Both Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette want out of Golden State. The Warriors are sucking pretty bad right now and probably would not mind dumping their high payed players.

Jackson I would die to have on this team. Maggette? Not so much. Too overrated.

Bad contracts I can deal with if its the right player. Maggette albeit might be the mold of the player we need, I just don't like him and I don't think he personally is that player that's going to really make us better. Stephen on the other hand can bring it on offense and is a wicked defender especially on the perimeter.

Jackson would be the right guy to come here
Maggette is a chucker and is injury prone.

Jax, yes, Mags, absolutely not. Maggette never met a shot he didn't like and can't play any D. I remember reading somewhere once where somebody summed up Maggette very nicely. He shows up every night to get paid. As long as he gets his, he's cool. No thanks.

I'd love to see Jackson in a Raps jersey.

Jackson and Mags have the same mentality on offence in GSWs system which is shoot everytime you touch it, difference is Jackson has proven on other teams he can adapt and be a really good role player that does the other things on GOOD teams. Mags always plays the same way in being a ballhog.

Jackson proved without a shadow of a doubt that hes a leader especially since coming to the young Warriors. They sucked bigtime the 2 years before this when he wasnt in the lineup even with Davis and Ellis. The guy is a bigtime lockerroom presence in a good way now and hes hit bigtime shots on every team hes been on. He was one of the top reasons the Spurs won the title the year he was there with his timely shooting and great defence.

The only problem with Jackson is his new 5 year deal but hes got fresher legs than most 30 yr olds since he hasnt been playing in the league as long. That and what he can provide in shooting, defence, and leadership I think he can maintain until hes at least 33. We'd be lucky to have him

People are saying Maggette's a chucker, but at least he makes up for it by living at the free throw line. Stephen Jackson is a better shooter than Maggette but he's a prime example one of those "shoot you into a game, shoot you out of a game" guys, and I think that's the last thing the Raptors need right now.

Maggette gets to the line because he shoots it everytime he touches it or he barrels into the lane every time he touches it. He doesnt know the meaning of team ball.

Jackson also shoots a lot, but again, on a good team his shot attempts obviously go down to where his fg% goes up playing with better players in a more structured system, and he unlike Maggette is a leader, plays DEFENCE and hits timely shots and knows how to play winning basketball. Theres a reason why Maggettes been a career loser and its not just because he played on the Clippers, the guy just cant adapt his game, hes too stupid. Warriors fans hate him more than they hated Ellis after the truth came out about his injury and thats saying a lot. Go to their board and see how the two compare.

I agree with everything you've said and I'm definitely not promoting Maggette, but I'm not jumping on the "Stephen Jackson to Toronto" bandwagon either. I acknowledge that SJax was super important to the Spurs for one of their chips, and was a big part of the Pacers when they were doing their thing before the Motown brawl. I just have no desire to see a shot chucker, as effective a role player as he may be, in Toronto, given our long-standing love affair with the jumpshot. That's it, that's all.

More than anything, I would just like to see the intensity that Jax brings to every game transferred onto some of the other Raptors. I'm not saying create a deal to bring him here, just saying that if I had to choose between those two guys coming here, I would take Jax. Just leave the guns at the border.
