The final month of the season I believe Gay's shooting was one of the best on the team. And he was only here 2.5 months.

I personally do not agree with the term "watchable". They are mainly talking about how we execute on offense. Now if our offense yield a better FG% will they still think we're "unwatchable"? Coz man...Spurs are doing the same thing EVERY play and yet due to their high FG% they get the benefit of the doubt. Much like, Nash with Suns, you know it's gonna be a pick and roll galore. Raps need movements with such athletic wings...we need better results to get respect

This team could become watchable because of their defense. That's a good thing from my view.

The D and the offense both have a long way to go.

I just hope we don't see Derozan getting the ball every possession... I think he is overrated. We should cut his minutes down and give Ross some more minutes. DeRozan has a low basketball IQ, anyone else agree with that? I like the guy, but he doesn't have what it takes to be an all-star type player. I always thought if he was playing on another team he would just get buried in the bench.

Silence Don Vito, don't be logical and objective about DD's play, it's really opposed on here - you'll be chastised.

I have wondered for a while if you need to include the word basketball in that sentence.

Obviously as a bias Raptors fan I can't agree with this. Raptors home games have always been entertaining win or lose.

More so in the years past. The team is made up of a lot fresher faces so I don't quite have that same attachment yet.

Let me get this straight..... you want to cut DD's minutes... the guy who's arguably been our best player in the pre-season (and for much of last year) for a kid who can't seem to do anything but chuck 3s and dunk? If you think DD's bball IQ is low I can't imagine what Ross' would be...

Demar is playing awesome...beautiful post game and looking much more confident with his shot.

I'm not giving up on Ross either...the hate level on him is way too exaggerated, he's a young player that shows flashes of something special. His defense isn't terrible either, he's just brought into a situation different from Derozan who had a open spot to take up minutes right away and has to work his way up on a shorter leash.

basketball does not revolve around Grantland

there are many alternatives to read NBA stuff, that do not involve Bill Simmons posse.

I wish more basketball blogs would recognize this.

i really like bill simmons and i quite like jalen rose but their season previews have been terrible!

as covered on here, the raps one was poor, loads of misconceptions and i also watched the cavs one and they suggested that if the season starts badly and they need a boost for play-offs they should trade waiters and varejao for pau gasol!? yuk, trade one of your good young kids and a good C for a rental of pau!?

Preseason. While it is positive we must remember the context.

The time he has played on the court has been pretty bad and thus the critique is warranted.

+1000000

Exactly. DD was handed things things to him on a silver platter while TR - not so much.

It would be nice if TR had people holding his hands along the way though like DD has had.

This must be your first season watching the Raptors then. DeRozan always plays good in the pre-season, he plays good when it doesn't matter. Watch the first couple months and then see him drop off.
