not really
8 mil can be used as an expiring contract in a couple years
then we can trade Marion to a team that can't afford a starter, like we've seen all offseason

No it isn't. In fact that's a bargain compared to 11Mil for Gordon...7Mil for CV....10Mil for Turkoglu.

And how is 8Mil way too much for Marion? Did you honestly think that all he was gonna get was the MLE? Thinking that would be delusional.

He's one of those players that know where the ball goes after a shot, an intelligent rebounder like Rodman.

if marion can play three more years, that's not a bad deal. In his 4th year, he'll be an asset as an expiring contract, so who cares.

For all you Bosh lovers, this is the best deal we can do right now, with hedu gone. It's the only chance to win 42+ games so we have a shot to keep bosh. If you want Bosh gone, than this would be a bad deal, since it's possible that we'll be good enough to convince him to stay.

He's one of the smartest players in the league and that alone means he will remain a good rebounder and useful player.

Are there people that aren't some kind of trolls that actually think the team losing is a good thing?

...If you consider 34% career or 32% from last year good.

only Cleveland/Orlando/Boston are better (1st tier)

Washington/Atlanta/Miami/Charlotte/Toronto/Philadelphia/Chicago/Detroit (2nd tier)

New Jersey/Milwaukee/New York/Indiana (3rd tier)

one of the smartest players in the league? His IQ can be 150 for all I care, when his hops are gone so is the rest of his game. The guy has no jumpshot and can't break down defenders. I say 1 or 2 seasons left and no more.

What I would like to see is...
Phoenix recieve Marion + Banks
For J Richardson
I dont love J richardson but this would make next years playoffs even more interesting.
After making that trade Phoenix should trade ben wallace for Chandler, which was recently rumored.
Then
Nash
Pavlovic
Marion
Stoudamire
Chandler
6th: Barbosa

imo Marion was a failed experiment and we need to move on.. even though everyone else thinks differently and LOVES shawn

O.K. Awesome, hurry and sign Shawn, we need you!

With Marion hitting stride the Raps went 9-4 to end the season primarily because for once they were almost healthy which was their biggest problem all last year. Bargs did miss 4 games during that stretch with flu and heel problems so that makes it even more of an accomplishment.

They scored 107 points per game, allowed 104.

They beat some quality teams in that stretch including beating the Magic in Orlando, beating Chicago who were playing a must win game, right in Chicago. Won road games in Washington and New York. Won home games against both Philly and a second game against Chicago.

The bench killed us all season and looks like it will be much improved with the options that the Marion signing presents us. Delfino, maybe Parker and hopefully Kleiza and whoever else with the exceptions.

This team looks like it can be very competitive and maybe surprise next season and may entice Bosh to re-sign. We need an experienced point guard to go with Kleiza with our exception money. Roko has great potential but he is not yet ready. If Roko shows any improvement that would be huge cause he was probably our best penetrator last year but just couldn't seem to finish easy layups. Maybe somehow we can trade Banks and filler for Tinsley.

And we'll stand a chance against Boston, Cleveland, or Orlando? Heck no!
Even with that said we can easily not even make the playoffs, now how sad would that be?
