Some other points: The Raptors have been working hard to find a way to keep either Carlos Delfino or Anthony Parker and of the two my sense is that Parker is the preferred option as part of the backcourt rotation, coming off the bench and picking up some minutes at point guard. Hes also viewed as an ideal mentor for DeRozan. That said there is a lot of money for him in Europe, so it will be a tough trick to pull off.
Nothing new to any of us here.

I'd love for either of to come back at this point.

To create depth at the 1 and 2 it sounds more and more likely that it will cost depth in the paint...That is unless that S&T for Marion with little cap hit coming back takes place.

the only concern i have is that if they do get resign, Raptors will have no bangers in offence. Everyone are shooters excpt for Mr. double d, he might not even get to the rim that much considering hes a rook and probably be scared of getting blocked by guys like shaq (players with size that he doesn't see much in college)

We really need bench players and those two would help out a lot. Especially AP being a vetern precense coming of the bench

i think we need to sign a slasher to teach Derozan, parker will just teach him to shoot off balance jump shots. Was desmond mason a pretty good slasher, i might be wrong, but if im not he probably will be able to teach Derozan coupld sick driving moves

bah.
Derozan doesn't need to be taught how to dribble and slash. he should already know how. he just needs to be forced into actually doing it.

Given the state of our roster right now, at this very moment, we would be insane not to want Anthony Parker or Delfino on this squad next year. From everything i've heard about adding players and our cap situation, i would think it probably won't happen, but with the addition of Turkoglu, Anthony Parker would be FANTASTIC off the bench. He would ensure there would always be an outside threat on the floor, and his veteran leadership would also be most welcome. Same goes for Delfino.

I'll say this: if somehow BOTH those guys are on the team next year + Turkoglu + the rest of the guys, this will be the best Raptors team we will have seen.

Agreed.

Love AP.

Solid defender, always makes the proper play, stays within the team system, excellent outside shooter, great passer, plays more than 1 position, knows all the guys already, all around good guy who loves Toronto.

Why wouldnt we want him

Can't a guy like Alex English teach him that?

It might be. We're a couple players away from it.

Need someone better then Banks at backup PG. AP would do in a pinch. Probably can't get anyone else better then Banks anyway for the LLE.

Need someone at SG other then DeRoz in case he can't handle it. Delfino would be reasonable.

Need a center that can dominate and score 10-15+ if one of the big 3 gets injured. Rasho would fill that spot nicely.

If we had...
Starters: Calderon, DeRozan, Hedu, Bosh, Bargs
Bench: Ukic, AP, Delfino, Evans, Rosho
Fillers: Banks, Pops, Douby-doo-wah, Voshkul.

That team should be pretty good...

He's like 14th man... don't worry so much about that. We get that deep into the roster and we have bigger problems.

Hehe, true enough - but I still don't like a guy who averages more fouls than minutes

Sure, that works too. Not that we can get him. Probably have to dish Banks off and Hump and a few others...

It looks to me like the MLE/LLE isn't going to happen. Therefore it'll be Delfino or Parker and a bunch of D leaguers on the bench. So beyond Derozan/AP or Delfino/DD we are going to be very thin. I was hoping that Colangelo could pull it off but unless the Mavs get involved we'll have little to nothing to spend after Turkoglu is signed and no exemptions.
