Default Grange: Don't Expect Great Numbers From Jose

Turkoglu is going to suck up some of pick-and-roll action; kick-out for threes assists that Calderon has lived on the last few years. Also, Jarrett Jack is beginning to find his way and looked great running a high-tempo second unit last night. His presence alone means a dip in minutes for Calderon, which should hopefully keep him crisp and sharp for when he does play, but will likely hurt his stat line, if not his performance.

Jose's ast. may dip a bit, but his scoring could stay the same as he will play off the ball/spot up shooter a bit w/ Turk on the floor. Also I'm perfectly fine w/ Jose playing less mins. 30ish/mins. sounds good to me.

Yahoo has Jose ranked around 14th...That's higher than Nash, Billups and Devin Harris...And Derrick Rose, if you're brave enough to think outside the "Yahoo box"

I agree 100% with Grange. Jose's on court impact will be great this season because he goes back to the role that he had the most impact in the past. No longer will he be expected always to get things going and no longer will defenses be able to focus on taking away his pick and roll and locking him down. He will also be much more rested throughout the season. His fantasy impact is going to take a hit though. When TJ was in town and they were using PG by committee, Jose was getting close to 30 minutes per game and I feel that's where he will be this year. During that time, if my memory is correct, Jose was hovering all year in around 70 to 40 range. I think he can be top 50-55 this year but not top 40. Because of these factors I would place him as a 4th round pick at the back end of the round at best and a late 5th rounder at the worst; that's in a standard 10 team yahoo league. Now he will go a lot higher than that because I have a funny feeling, based on what I've seen take place fantasy basketball drafts of the past, that most people use Brandon Funston's "Big(ger) Board: Basketball" and/or Yahoo league rankings (Which are the same or close to it) as their draft board.

I think that would create too much complication. Jose is a tremendous starter, he was signed while promised to be the starter long term, let him start. Why revisit another PG feud saga when its not needed? Give them both 25-30 minutes per game and call it a night.

Honestly, i'd rather keep Bargnani @ 10Mil/yr and trade Bosh @ 20+Mil/yr for another big and even more depth.

calderon is just looking old and worn out. I'm not sure if its his facial hair or just his expression.

Can't we just give NO Caldy and Bosh for the Meka and Paul?

I'd rather Swap Bosh for Wade, though I doubt Miami would like that deal.

We should have traded Calderon when he was in his prime

Jose this season will probably average about 11.8ppg, 2.5rpg, and 8.0apg and will most likely lead the league in FT percentage.
