So for the last 2+ seasons, players looking lost has absolutely nothing to do with the coaching? You have got to be kidding me? I was listening to the radio this morning and i have to agree with Jeff Blair when he says defense can be taught and when it's this bad for this long (going on 3yrs w/Triano) at some point the coach has to be accountable. To say that with ALL the players (which is a lot) we've had here under Triano and it's all their fault and Triano is not to blame is naive. Let's face facts, under Triano our defense has been abysmal and that's putting it mildly. And when so many different players come in here and struggle moreso then prior to coming here and don't strive and seem to not be used properly that's coaching. And when for nearly 3 straight years there seems to be no clear cut defined roles (at least not enough) and players look lost.....that's coaching.

He tried to re-establish a team here he had some success with in Phoenix and tried everything he could do to establish a running philosophy which seemed to be at odds with the former coach here. Instead of looking at teams like San Antonio who win by executing a simple offensive game plan and defending we looked at a high octane offense.

We looked at 7-8 player turnover year in and year out without establishing who may or may not be core guys.

It was until this past year that some form of commitment to defense was being established.

While hiring BC and well re-hiring is a form of establishing some form of normalcy to this organization, I can't help but feel underwhelmed by what he did here right now. I know, if I was hired in my organization and lost my biggest account and didn't have a back up plan, I'd likely be let go.
I agree completely.

I'm amazed that so many want to ditch Triano because "he hasn't done anything in 3 years", yet keep BC who "hasn't done anything in 7."

The bolded section above that Claudius wrote is what it all boils down to (or should anyway).

Has BC really been here for 7 years?

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.... I think there is alot of objectivity lacking on this forum, and in saying this I also declare BARBOSA!!!

He hasn't even been here for 5yrs yet. As for the Atlantic division title, i'm sure it'll be pointed out quickly how poor the division was that year. Even though the previous season the division sucked and we won 27 games.
