Default Grange: $14 Million Under This Cap This Summer

Not bad at all ... gotta little room to work with this summer if the deal goes down.

Wouldn't it be more.

Marion makes 17.8 this season + AP (4.5Mil) & Moon(700,000) also come off the books if they don't re-sign.

If we make a couple more trades, we could afford Kobe if he opts out

You forgot Garbo's contract is coming off the books as well.

i don't know... via sham--

we could get close but to do so we'd have to renounce everyone.

if we're doing this for cap, i'm not liking it. might as well get marbury--wouldn't get stuck with banks. if we're planning on keeping marion, that's a different story. or maybe bc would plan on moving marion again before the deadline.

The trading deadline will have passed by the time the mandatory 2 month waiting period ends, so if we're trading for him we're keeping him.

BC's thinking is that Marion will help the Raps stay competitive ( i mean, this team has to at least start playing .500 ball the rest of the way, right?) and give them flexibility in the offseason. I don't know how Marbury could help us with the former.

Also, anyone know if BC gave Banks that horrible contract? Maybe he sees something in him.

the 2-month waiting period is a restriction on trading newly acquired players in combination with others: we could trade marion, we could not trade marion in a package with ukic.

banks' contract was given by d'antoni
