Exclamation Graham Injured During Camp

Meh .... not really big news, but news nevertheless.

Unfortunately, this injury comes at a bad time for Graham. He had a solid summer and after chatting with some of the coaches and trainers, word is that he was one of the most impressive players at camp on Day 1 - before he got hurt.

Apparently Graham pulled the hammy while running (”flying” - as one of the coaches put it) down the floor for a breakout pass. Initially, folks were worried that it was his knee – maybe an ACL or MCL — but Graham quickly told them ‘No, it’s just my hammy’.

i don't think this is serious at all. sounds like it's just a strain of the muscle. Plus Joey is superman - he'll heal up pretty quickly and will be ready to prove the nay-sayers wrong when it maters.

Why? I'm sure someone else can pick up his 5 minutes per week.

Graham is a good player.

A pulled or torn Hamstring is a pretty pesky injury, they will hold him out until he has gotten treatment to the point of being 100%. This is pretty sandard stuff, but to be honest, I don't get all the sarcasm and hatred you guys exude when talking about Graham. The guy has never been givin a starting role, at least not in the last few years, he doesn't complain, he is VERY well liked and respected in the room and helps bring a healthy attitude, and the guy works hard. All you Blog experts and arm chair GM's need to relax a bit on a guy that frankly, you all build up a hell of a lot more then th organization, or Graham himself ever have, so why you feel the need to tear him down constantly is beyond me.

Its because of things like this

Quote:
"I'll play the one if I have to," Graham said at Tuesday's shoot-around in Orlando. "I'll play the five. It doesn't matter. I'm the most versatile player, I think, in the league."
Joeys offensive arsenal consists of
- Catch ball about 20 ft out
- look at his options
- dribble dribble
- between the legs dribble
- pull up shot

In all seriousness, Joey seems like a real good guy, team player and in no way a malcontent, what it is with me is the same thing with Hump, they just need to get it in their heads what is needed from them and work on that. Dont try to be a star, just be a good role player.

Hey, SJ. don't know if you think i'm being sarcastic, but i seriously think Graham is gonna do well this year - to the point where i think he will be the surprise contributor for the team this year.
seriously man. I really think Graham's gonna kill it.

ya ya, thats all fine, but it's all circumstantial.

If you ask me, a few years back toronto should have stopped trying to "develope Joey", and they should have focused on making him a supreme role guy. Some would argue they have, I disagree. A guy like him, should have been slotted right away after his second year, strict rules, strict instrutions. He isn't a bad asset if used properly.

Cool, I'm not targeting anyone specifically fancy, soory bout that, I just think people should realistically look ata guy before expecting too much.

This is only a minor set back.

Joey is poised to to prove his worth again this season.

Everyone also seems to forget what an integral part of the stretch run in '07 he was. Without him the Raps would've been sunk.

Ungrateful bastards...

Hes going to surprise some people this season I think. He may not have a breakout season but in my opinion he will show just enough promise to be kept a little longer in a Raptors uni this year.

If Joey is going to get it done, Mitchell is going to have to let him play through the airhead mistakes that only Joey makes.

I was just thinking about it and I don't really remember Joey playing at all anymore. I'd like to see him get a legitimate shot at having a regular role - he's so athletic, at least that's what I hear, that if the light goes on he could really help the team.

Here's hoping. I like that the guy has never complained and has simply gone about his business as a professional. He deserves some good things to happen.

No sweat about his injury, he'll have more then enough time to fully recover by sitting on the bench.
