For a GM like Ujiri, for me to give him above B+ is executive of the year candidacy territory, which I don't think he is right now.
If this team continues to win it's fare share of games (say 44-45 wins) he will be and xecutive of the year candidate. Based on what we HAVE DONE TO NOW, that seems very likely unless he makes moves to take a step back or we run into injuries. Right now we are the biggest surprise team in the EC (of course this fanbase will downplay that).

Damn this fanbase. They probably think Cleveland is going to beat us and we'll go 3-3 in the next 6.

Is it possible to think Kyrie and Dion could carry over some excitement from the allstar weekend?

If there isn't a difference in the defense they see, then sure. I don't see how that happens though.

In the meantime get s much depth as possible (ala Denver) and eventually parlay some of those players for higher end talent. Think Boston in 2007.

That being said, it's all a guess and grading him on anything other then what he's already don seems asinine to me.
not sure how is that a plan, I mean all teams have the same goal. The question since this summer was which of the 2 main directions are we heading, total rebuild or incremental improvements. As of right now, we're still not sure of the future direction (and I think he is not sure either).

I can't blame MU for where we at, because I don't think he had a choice. I agree with his approach of not trading assets at a major discount, regardless of how good the draft is. And I don't think we ever got any decent offers for our tradeable players. He did try to get worse with the gay trade, and if we were able to pass lowry to the knicks, things would have been different now.

Still, in a way, we're in better shape now. Demar's value is much higher and so is lowry's. We can give this core a chance this season, see how they do the rest of the season and in the playoffs. If we decide it's not good enough, we can still tank next season and demar will fetch a much higher value imo. Yes, we'd be losing lowry for nothing, but it's not like a 2018 lottery protected pick from the Knicks is that much to lose.

it's definitely possible, they are a dangerous team for us, a lot of tough matchups in this game.

that's why he deserves a B,no? He made some good moves, but nothing decisive as of yet, we're yet to cut the knot ...

However when measuring the team's success,90% of the key players are BC's guys(KL,DD,JV,AV,TR vs PP,TH). He still had to buyout QR and MC,on the hook for Novak and Hayes. The Stone,Buyckys and Daye pickups have all been useless. I think his original intent was to build a crappy team and plan for the future but Colangelo's pieces have stepped up and prevented that. If he can get rid of Fields for something decent he'll get upgraded to an A instantly lol.

OK...
And apparently we also grade him on not builiding a shitty team because it didn't match other peoples ideas? Good grief Bailey. and what the #$%^ does QR and MC have to do with anything, and he got more out of those 2 trades than anyone would, and BC would not have even traded either.
