Should have put more options for the poll.

Allow me to predict responses.

Snooch: F-minus, would have been better if Bosh was traded for something, anything

LX: B----Bosh still isnt surrounded with enough talent, and until he is Bosh isnt going to get any better.

SJ: You are all morons and should bow to your Jakkal Master

Benzo: My polls are better. That is all.

B+. he managed to pull off that 4-way deal w/Marion's case. in return, we got a more offensive-oriented guy and 2 SG's which addresses AP&JG's absences. he traded J-Kap for Evans. ..and I guess the signing of J-Jack is a good acquisition. now if he can get Rasho (nevermind Delfi) in...

For the record I've made it pretty clear that Bosh's game has been raised since Marion was qcquired, and that I'm more than satisfied at the talent that the team has been rounded out with in lieu of Marion. Yes - in lieu motherfuckers.

And I've never said that Bosh isn't going to get any better. That's an absurd position.

So again - WTF?

And I say A+. He had about the hardest job of any GM going into the off-season. He could have banked on keeping Marion one way or another, and then grabbing Delfino and Rasho and calling it a day. I think that would have been too much of the status quo. He was able to shake up the lineup a bit, add durability at two important positions, and solidify every position.

Simply by subtracting Kapono he gets a passing grade. But he did so much more than that, and he put together his blueprint for a decent chunk of years going forward without sacrificing the ability to make some bold moves to make more of a jump. After last season's bewilderment, I found that he far exceeded expectations.

That doesn't assure automatic success. But he's done his job, and I think still has more stuff on the go yet. The players and Triano have to take it from there.

Trading Kapono for Evans (A)

Getting the 4way trade done allowing us to keep MLE/BAE and adding Turk/Wright (A+)

Jack signing (B+)

If BC signs Rasho/Delfino (A)

= A

I give him an A too. Depending on the on-court production I expect the result to be anywhere from a B- to an A+.

He has obviously worked very hard. I don't fault him for his effort. I do still have concerns about defense and rebounding, so I will wait to see how this team plays together before I give him a grade on anything other than effort.

I can't think of a better trade involving Kapono. Just subtracting Kapono for a pick would have garnered an A from me. Getting Evans in return? A+

The 4 way deal was out of nowhere. Even A+ doesn't cut it.

The Jack signing was a solid A. How many offers to restricted free agents that so perfectly fit a team's needs actually end up being successful?

He can add whoever he likes after that. I can't see anything less than A+.

i conquer.

if we aren't grading it on success and just plain old effort bryan get's an A+++++

he tried so hard to do everything he could and do whats best for the club.

although, sure he might not of made a championship caliber team. but, we don't exactly have the foundation and assets for a championship caliber team. he's made us go from no playoff hopes to chance at eastern conference finals or 7 games second round series.

I'm not grading the team at all. It's too premature for that. It isn't too early to see it as a vastly improved team though, and one with real prospects for years to come.

Where do you set the bar in terms of GM's and the moves they make in the off-season? Is it a sliding scale?
The trades by Ainge for Boston 2 years ago would rate better than what Bryan has done here so far. Danny Boy bought a ring that summer.
I won't go so far as to say Bryan has done the same. But I like it. I like it alot.

It's not over yet, but so far is hard to think of any better outcome for us, so it's got to be at least A.

Just think about it, we've traded a player some thought untradeable while feeling our biggest needs in the process. Than, we've signed the most glamorous free agent, while convincing a potential direct opponent to help us maintain our cap space and we got a potential starter at our weakest position and a guy that his ex coach says was the toughest on their roster and their best perimeter defender, capable of covering 1s, 2s and 3s. In Jack, we've got probably the best possible fit, and arguably the best backup PG in the league.

I like what Ottis did in Orlando a lot, but Colangelo's done a tremendous job too.

An A+++ for effort and shutting haters up but you can only fully grade it after seeing the team on the floor
