Gherardini As Next Knicks GM?

Not a rumour, but just speculation by this writer. Nice to see Maurizio getting noticed though.

2. Hire a general manager - Expect Glen Grunwald to remain in place at least through the draft, but it is more than likely that Walsh will look to hire his own guy to handle the everyday front-office duties. Walsh and D'Antoni both may be in on this decision, so you can figure they will look at Wizards executive Tommy Sheppard, Bulls consultant Jim Paxson, former Bucks GM Larry Harris and Raptors assistant GM Maurizio Gherardini.

3. Roster evaluation - There will have to be a decision on Stephon Marbury, who is in the final year of his contract ($21 million) and could be a buyout candidate if they decide it's best to remove him from the locker room. A player Walsh likely will try to move is Zach Randolph, whose contract is an albatross.

That team is a mess. Both Curry and Randolph's contract run through the 2010-11 season. The only way they get someone to take Randolph's contract is throwing in their pick this year or swapping picks.

Maurizio is far from an idiot and I suggest you edit your post or he might "influence" your decision to wear cement boots and go for a walk in the middle of Lake Ontario.

It's funny you say that "European Style Ball," because if you knew anything about Maurizio, you'd know he was actually heavily influenced by North American basketball, team management and coaching and brought it to Europe.

The only thing that pisses me off though was his descion to bring in bargnani...he was the coach of his team in italy i think it was Benetton and felt that he would make an impact in the NBA...if u were coaching Bargnani in a style infleunced by North American Ball...then why does he settle for jump shots does not take the ball strong to the net or rarely does and why is he such a pussy for his size and his advantage as a quick and agil big man in this league...i think he made a wrong descion in bringing barngani to the Raptors knowing that Raptors already have a star PF...thats why i think he is an idiot..excuse my grammar its proly screwed right now...

It wasn't his decision to draft him and bring him here and he also wasn't the coach for Benetton. lol

That being said, everyone loved Bargs last year and until he got hurt this years, so let's give some time to get it together for next year.

hmm if eh wasnt coach i forgot what he was i was sure he was the coach or gm or something...i loved Bargnani last year but this is a dog eat dog world....i dont care if u were playing like Kobe last year if your playing shit this year then you gotta re evaluate yourself...i do have faith in Bargnani to get better but that cause i gotta deal with the fact that he is our number one pick...for what we needed Bargnani wasnt propery scouted in my opinion...

Wasn't it BC who actually liked his game more and said he was looking at him thorougly back when he was GM of the Suns?

i always though it was gherardini that always pushed the choice of picking andrea...cause if he was watching him all summer then he wouldve had known at that moment he would not be able to play a 5 which was the role we needed him to play....we thought he was a dirk something
