This is a good little read and another valuable asset to this franchise with his international experience and connections especially from his home country of Nigeria.

It‘s a great organisation run by a great man in Bryan Colangelo, who really works hard and takes pride in what he does. He is a winner and this rubs off on all those who work for him. We have a neat set up. Everyone has a part to play. We also have a good group of players. The city of Toronto is also so multi cultural; it puts you in a great environment to enjoy living there. It is a huge plus when you enjoy going to work everyday, enjoy who you work with and who you work for.

What do you hope to achieve with Toronto in the coming years?

Our goal is to be a championship team. It is a process and you take steps and we are hoping we took a good step with the Jermaine O‘Neal trade. Whatever you do, you want to get better every year and put yourself in good position to win. With the NBA, it is very hard to win a championship. You must not only have a great team but also some luck going with you also.

How did you receive the news of your promotion to assistant general manager Players/Personnel?

It was right after the draft and Colangelo called me to his office and told me. He had thrown out hints before but until it happens, you never want to speculate. He is a man of his word. It was probably the most exciting day of my working life. Five years in the NBA and I have reached this position.

African players have a lot of potential, it's nice to have someone that knows that market.
