I'm happy for Jorge and its a damn shame because in a way he was taken from us too soon.

We told him not to go play and then he went and got hurt, yet everyone still has love for him? But TJ plays with a career/life threatening injury, and everyone hates him? Double standard?

I don't hate TJ and politics aside I'll still miss Garbo. He was a helluva player.

I liked Garbo as a player, but when us as the fans are paying your bills, letting you live a life of luxery and our team says, you cant play so and so event, guess what? You dont go, you dont whine, you respect your bosses (MLE and us the fans), and you come back uninjured the next year and help us win games again.

So basically , i say, fuck garbo, i hope he gets hurt and fucks over another team

Yes, i said i liked him as a player, i thought he played well and played hard, but what he did, it was wack and i lost respect for him. He put Spain ahead of us on the food chain, even though we pay his bills.

Yea if he didn't go to play that one summer he'd still be here playing with the raps as the starting SF

What's wrong for playing for his country though? I respect that decision moreso than anything else. It shows he has principles and that's something incredibly rare in today's society where it's only "me-first". If anything, it shows his commitment to basketball and I'm sure that summer, if we had a game instead of Spain, he'd be suiting up for us then too.

His integrity is something we should admire.

Doubtful. With that type of injury and losing an entire year of basketball, he would've been a 10th man at best. He just wouldn't have the footspeed any longer (and he wasn't that fast in the first place).

I guess that's one way of putting it, but i could care less about Spanish basketball or any international team, but if you come play for the Raptors and our fans are paying you, you should listen to what our management says. His principles were thumbing his nose at all toronto fans, and management, getting hurt and wanting his paycheck. Honestly in fairness, he should have given up his entire check if he was so high on principles, because what he did was wack.

Garbo: Hard working hustler and doesn't complain.
TJ: Demanding and injury-proned.
Sure they both got injured but who did more?

Not everyone. What got me is that when he declined to having surgery and entered the season not on his top level he whined and complained about not getting minutes. That was a total disgrace.

I don't hate TJ either. In fact I'm still a fan of his and I will be cheering for him in Indiana. I hope he blows up with a huge all-star level season. I hope he rubs it in the faces of the haters in Toronto for the next decade.

What? Am I imagining things? Didn't he complain for the entire duration that he was active last season? He complained a lot and it was more detrimental to the team than TJ suggesting that he wanted to start. TJ didn't bitch to the press like Garbo, he simply answered their questions. Jorge was so poorly conditioned and yet he whined to anyone who would listen about how he wasn't getting enough time. Then finally they forced him out for the year...Thank God.

Ugo is right, its a classic double standard. TJ got raped by the media and unfairly bashed by a group of fans because he stood in the way of their "Golden Boy" from getting more minutes.

Please refresh my memory.

When did Garbo whine to anybody who would listen?

All the guy has ever wanted to do is play basketball. He said he wanted to play, that's not whining. He wanted to play so badly he put his career in jeopardy. The man loves the game.

I agree and I have no problem with either man and their desire to play the game they love.
