So it has being confirmed that Garbo wants to play the Olympics. He expects to rejoin the Raptors by the end of march or even before. It will be Garbajosas last appareance for the spanish team.

Ya, sure he does. I wish that some of our Canadian basketball players had as much passion to play for their country as Garbo has for his.

Health willing - i hope he wins a silver (and for Canada to win gold - but we know that's not happening). I'd love to see Jorge back in a raps uni this season or playoffs. We really do need him.

Out of curiousity, why would this be his last go at international play?

Well, thats what the article says. Although I dont trust newspapers like MARCA, is not absurd to think this will be his last one. He is getting old, and there are a lot spanish young players waiting to join the national team. Actually some people think that he shouldnt go the olympics, that he should let another players join. This will be his last big competition, and like nash I doubt he has the body to play in the NBA and the national team. I think he will just concentrate in the NBA.
Well I supose it all depends in how he recovers from the injury.

I dunno, all things said and told, do I wanna see Garbo in there before Jamario?

I'm thinking no.

well, i think its pretty much a give in that if and when Garbo comes back, he's going to be coming off the bench.

Here's what i expect with regards to our warrior, Jorge:

1. For him to be 100% healthy when he returns - or at least 90% with ZERO risk/concern to his ankle.

2. when he does return, i don't want him riding the bench. Jorge better be given important playing time because his basketball IQ is one of the highest on this team.

His I'Q. get walked passed by every 3 guard in the league.

Sorry man, he' sfinished, he was slow to start, he aint' gonna be anything but slower fter this type of injury, and subsequent set back.

Don't get me wrong, you KNOW I love him frommy posts last year, but Garbo is a bench guy now.

Huh weird ... on the bus ride in this morning I was thinking that we hadn't heard a Garbo update at all lately. I was wondering how he was doing in recovering and when we might be able to see him in the line-up again. End of March would be perfect timing.

I don't suspect Garbo would pop into the starting line-up to replace Jamario, SJ. I think he'll get some burn playing minutes backing up Bosh at the 4 spot than he would at SF.

yeah, I dont think nobody expects garbajosa to start again. Just give him 20 mins a night. Again, it all depends on how good is he when he is back.
Besides PF is his natural position.

I concur ... I think even next season Garbo will continue to be a valuable bench player. He's no spring chicken, but will still provide us with some much needed veteran experience.

He will provide us with balls.

Which is perhaps what the raps miss most right now.

Garbo said that a month ago ( maybe more, he uses to write in "elpais.com").

I hope he only goes to the Olimpyc if he is healthy and he has played with the Raptors, and ONLY if raps' doctors let him go. Seriously.

I accept jokes due to my change of ideas (between, that's a great song)

Yeah, and I didn't believe it. Til I read that it was just normal that Volley-Ball and soccer players played with that fissure in the bone. Then I thought:

1-somebody hasn't said all the true
2-who is the moron who thinks volley, soccer and basketball players do the same physical effort.

I ate my crow raw.

thing is - in Spain basketball is extremely popular, not like soccer or hockey here, but still, a lot more popular compared to canada. Plus, they're good, legitimate contenders. Obviously players love to play for their country there, just like our hockey players love to play for Canada.
