someone did mention it before, in regards to the ridiculous amount of 3's we gave up tonite. it does have a bit to do with our defensive schemes and us doubling in the post...so against a team like LA, its pretty much a pick your poison type scenario with who you double off of.

I, for one, would love to see us just play man defence, without any doubling, and see what happens

I missed the game, but it sounds like another classic TJ performance. Calderon got 20 minutes? Fuck this guy. Can we have Charlie V. back? He looks awesome lately.

Nice numbers for Bargs... 15/6/6, he probably could've taken more than 10 shats too.

TJ played better than he has in the last few games

That said, when he was on the floor he WAS the offense while the rest of the team just watched him dribble around.

Ultimately, it was Sam's decision to leave one of the 2 best players on the team sitting on the bench most of the 4th

Calm down there fudgy... you missed the game. Tj was on...he was breaking down the LA defence like it was soft cheese... Jose was struggling big time and TJ and that lineup had the momentum so they finished up the game. The supporting cast for Kobe was on tonight...but overall we played a good game and TJ was on fire.

Common SWAN, cant you see that when Tj plays like that(as good as he was), nobody else plays. We were having the exact same result with Tj playing well that in the rest of the game. Always down 8, the difernce was that before, all the team was scoring, not only TJ. And it the end of the game, when you need all your team hot, you have TJ hot and the rest of the game cold as hell.

Talk to the Raptors coaching staff... he wasn't pulled so he must have been doing what he was asked. I seem to remember Rasho and Andrea getting a few touches down the stretch...even Joey(2 turnovers) got the ball, but Tj was very effective...we just couldnt' get the stops.

hey, I like Tj, but what he needs to learm is that when he makes 2 or 3 baskets in a row, it means that in the next play he is probably going to be double teamed, and that means one of his teammates will be alone. He needs to learn to make that pass. He tries to do too much, and a turnover or bad shot happends. That HAS to be the next step of his game, that even when he feels hot, he needs to make that pass in order to get his teammates involved.

Lost in all of this criticism of TJ is the fact that Calderon really sucked last night. Actually he really, really sucked - couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, bad D, bad passes...

It must suck hating someone so much that you can't objectively watch the team you love.

umm, I dont think he was that bad, he wasnt good thats for sure. Bu he only took 6 shots, and made 6 assist in 20 minutes.I agree Tj deserved more minutes yesterday, but he really needs to use his head more.

Hm, if Jose sucked so bad, and TJ played so well, how come:

Jose -3
Tj -6

and that's with 28 points scored by TJ ...
Jose played the 1st and the 3rd quarters, which we won both, TJ played the 3rd and the 4th, which we lost ... Also, in the 1st and 3rd we gave up 23.5 pts, in the 2nd and 4th we gave up 35 points ...

You're going to base a players play on one stat? One stat that is still a 5 person stat? mmm, kay

Parker lighting it up with Jose on the floor actually had very little to do with Jose, but nice try.

I think you have to give a little bit of credit to Kobe and Odom for that,

Default Mitchell forfeited the game

TJ was okay, but he took far too many shots and left his teammates running back and forth. I think he could have salvaged the game if he shared the ball, and be less predictable. There definitely is no flow to the raptor game when TJ is on the court.

But it looked like Mitchell waited too long to bring back Calderon and the starters when we were tied, or down by a little after the 3rd started.

The other thought I have was that Mitchell already decided - before the game began - to forfeit the game and rest the starters for tonights (vs GS) game. It's too bad because the way the starters were playing I think we could have had a good chance of winning.

would have been pretty hard for him to do the same when TJ was in the lineup, kind of hard to shoot when you never see the ball ...

Not sure what Kobe/Odom have to do with the fact that the quarters when TJ played we gave up 10 more points than the other two with Jose?

thanks for proving my point ... which was that as a TEAM (5 persons), we played better with Jose that with TJ ... And that's on a night where Jose wasn't hitting his few shots he takes, and TJ was hot on his way too many attempts ...

I dont know if you watch the lakers games. I have wach most of them since gasol got there, and they basically play the first halfs too relaxed, and the they burn the teams in the second. Thats what Odom and Bryant did. They just put take control of the game offensevely whenever they want in most games. If they didnt play such a bad defense lately they would have won by 40.

If I remember correctly, Kobe had a lot of points in the first quarter in this game - I don't remember how many, but he had the 3 threes to start the game ...
