Prediction

- 99
- 95

Hopefully we can carry Sunday's momentum and beat Atlanta tonight on their home court. Look for Bosh to exploit their weak front court and hopefully Ford and Jose can run circles around Anthony Johnson. Also, can't wait to watch the Smith vs Moon match-up. That will be a defensive gem.

Predict and discuss!

It'll be interesting to see how Andrea responds tonight.

good to know that Hump is currently playing well so we can go to him if rebounding concerns arise.

Atlanta will be tough though, beating the improved Magic doesn't seem like an easy task.

I'm still calling a Raptors "W".

Is Andrea back forsure tonight fancy? .... I haven't had time to read the morning papers today (hence why "Today in Raptorland" isn't done) so I wasn't sure if he was going to be playing or not.

well he definately made the trip. I heard an interview with him on the fan, and by all accounts it looks like he will suit up. I don't expect him to start though.

Chuck has him as a gametime decision in his blog.

I say the 99 - 95 prediction sounds about right... possibly a little lower scoring but i see a close raps win in this one.

their on back to back - this is a MUST win game for us. We should be strong favorites in this one. Who's our starting point guard tonight, btw?

T.Jose forderon.

But we know who it should be.

I do agree with this being a must win, but Atlanta certainly will be a tough matchup. They're probably saying the same thing about this game that the Raptors are. With the Hawks being a very young team, i don't think this being the second of a back-to-back will really affect them.

One thing for sure, these aren't the Hawks of seasons' past. At least they're not yet, at this point in the season.

I would assume Ford unless Smitch got tired of his sour face after not being put back into Sunday's game, because if so then expect a Calderon start.

Horford starts at C for them not Lorenzon.

We should put up at least 20 3's tonight the way they help and attack the ball on defence. Kapono, Delfino, Parker, and Bargs better step up and deliver.

Raps 103 Hawks 95

Wright started last night, so I just assumed that Horford is currently coming off the bench for them. Hence why I had Wright as starting and not Horford.

EDIT: Oops ... your right thrills .... I just double checked and Horford did in fact start last night. He just had early foul trouble against D12 and only played 8 minutes last night.

Sour face or not TJ will get the start. The only way Jose will get the start is if TJ is not 100 %. I have come to the conclusion that it really does not matter, as long as Mitch can read the flow of the game and can pull the trigger and go with Jose without worry of what TJ thinks. TJ is more suited to starting it takes alot of pressure off him , he would find it more difficult coming off the bench trying to make things happen forcing him be more out of control .Its written all over his face when Jose is in the game and is playing well .I would love to see TJ act more of a team guy when hes on the bench it would do wonders for his image .
Anyway regarding tonights game, the Hawks are playing their second game of a back to back, the rapts should be well rested and ready to pounce. If Bargs is ready to go Mitch should get him in early to get his feet wet. If Mitch waits to long that would put too much pressure on Bargs especially if we are behind. Look for 3 things tonight to happen for us to win , #1) we must win the battle on the glass, #2) must shoot the ball well, we must have a better FG % and #3) don't turn the ball over, we must protect it better.
So if we can do #1,#2 and #3," its all over....raptors win ....raptors win.....
always a pleasure "

I also like to think the key to this game will for the Raptors to deposit the ball into the stringed basket more often than their oponents.

Well its not as easy as that, you can make more FGs and still lose the game ? For example, lets simplify it... you take 10 shots and make them you get 20 points. Now I take 7 shots and make them but they are 3's, I win 21 to 20 and you made more shots. lol

Good game thread as always Doc, I expect a close one if Bargnani plays if not, then a tough loss it will be.
