Do you remember a game in the first 3 months where he missed a few shots and was still kept in the game? Because I don't ...

Do you remember a game in the first three months where he wasn't in early foul trouble or if his shot wasn't falling did nothing else to justify getting playing time?

sure - and that's something you can expect with a young player. Look at Seattle, how they dealing with Durant, you don't see them benching the guy after his first mistake.

Sitting a guy down because of foul trouble is not benching a player and sitting down a guy who's not putting in any effort no matter who the player is not a new concept created by Sam. Seattle is a really crappy team lottery-bound team and the Raps aren't, it's apples to oranges. Secondly, you can disagree until your blue in the face, but the proof is in the pudding. Sam's methods worked and no it's not because Bosh is out because he was already going good before he got hurt.

I guess it's the classic chicken and egg ... if Bargnani is doing well, it's Sam's "methods", if not, it's Andreea's fault ... Let's wait and see what happens when Bosh gets back from his injury, if Andreea will continue to get the benefit when he's starting games with cold shooting ...

Seriously though man, do you know any coach, in any sport, at any level that rewards a player not putting in maximum effort with playing time?

I don't think we were talking about effort, I think we were talking about making mistakes. Bargnani was taken out of most games because he was making defensive mistakes - not because of lack of effort.

Effort and defensive intensity are inextricably linked to each other.
