I don't think the issue is being a prick, it's expecting different from others, if you're going to do it.

I think this is the most busiest this forum has been in a long time. I've seen a lot of people post here this week and last week who haven't posted in the last couple of months.

.
We're not that far apart.

That ideal scenario I was describing involving Felton was if the team was going to pick him up. If it's something BC is going to do, you hope Felton's price is low, the team underpays, and then he plays well again like in NY, once Toronto signs him.

The chances of all those variables happening together is probably very low.

So I'm putting up game pix for the Daily Dish and I see photo after photo of Lin, with Jose in the best defensive position - waving his arms from behind. None of those fancy behind the back passes for Lin.

And Toraps - if Lin mentioned his Lord Savior Jesus Christ in passing, as you suggest, I'd have no problem. It is a cliche at this point. The dude does more proselytizing than he gives credit to teammates, and he does that frequently. He says he is humbled, and in the same breath suggests that God is working through him for the sake of winning a game of basketball. Should it not occur to him that there might be better priorities for his deity?

You're clearly assigning blame to Jose whenever possible and you're looking ridiculous doing it TBH.

"Continues to fail at what we need him to do in crunchtime".... that's rich. The standards that you're holding Jose to right now (considering our current roster) are downright ludicrous.
defending his man is ludicrous? not turning the ball over in the crucial possessions while being guarded by a rookie is ludicrous?

and for the record, i have not laid blame only on him. i have only suggested he can't do much of what we need from a pg. he's not the only problem.

and that is why i accuse you of re-framing debates. you do it all the time.

i don't really have much to add to the discussion having gone through all the postgame stuff. I'll just say i am a Calderon fan. I think he's underrated, but i see him as pointless on this team. We are going through a rebuild and in doing so there is no point to have an overpaid, over 30 player who's abilities don't match his price tag. it does not compute.

anyways, i thought i'd share my game experience with you:

So i'm watching the whole thing up until mid 4th quarter. Wife and i finally get baby to sleep for the night and she wants to watch a pvr'd episode of top chef. no probelm - i like that show too. so i set the rest of the raptor game on record and plan to watch it after top chef. Get back to raptor game. NY makes it closer, i get annoyed that we can't score, then we get the lead back to 6 and i'm happy again. then the game shuts off as my recording stopped as the game obviously went past the 9:30 time slot my digital box had it slotted for. this really pissed me off. then i checked the score and i got even more annoyed.

we need to tank this season hard.

That's why you always set sporting events to record with extra time.

actually given what went down in last night's game, it may have been for the better. This whole Jeremy Lin thing is annoying.

I think it's a pretty great story and something the NBA desperately needed after the lockout, it's just not fun when your team is on the other end of one of his "moments".

exactly. what made it worse too was the crowd support. i fucking hate it when our fans cheer for the trendy team or players of the league.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most of the people cheering for him were not Raptors fans and were there specifically to see him.

yeah. i don't think many people there were cheering for the knicks as a team per sť, as fans of other teams are being led to believe on realgm. when the celtics and lakers come to town, the crowd is peppered with Celtics and Lakers jerseys, but I don't see the same sort of deal with the Knicks. Especially in this case. The cheers were from Jeremy Lin fans. Sucks we're always a part of these moments though, I knew it was going to happen.

I wasn't pleased with the crowd either. It's fine for people to cheer for Lin and hope he has success. However, the Toronto fans should also be cheering for the Raptors and hope they get a win.

It's like when Nash comes to Toronto. People come to see him play and cheer when he makes a great play. But at the end of the game, the fans want to see the Raptors win at the expense of the Canadian's team.

I'm not saying Felton would be a huge upgrade. I think he'd be a slight upgrade because we essentially run the same pick and roll offence that the Knicks do, and Felton excels in the pick and roll game, not Portlands slow postup offence. And he's a better defender than Jose, as well as being younger than Jose.

I dont blame Jose at all for last night. You could see when Shumpert stole the ball from him, Jose was about to collapse on the court. It's difficult carrying your team the entire night, then having to go the extra mile and do it in the 4th when the defence turns up about 5 pegs.

Jose is what he is. One of the most solid, reliable, halfcourt PGs in the NBA. He doesnt turn the ball over and makes shots. He'll be a great fit this year on a near contending or contending team. Not trading him now would be another huge mistake by BC, which wont surprise me at all since BC just lives off his rep and has been terrible since coming to TOR
