Prediction

- 95
- 91

Well, at this point Ray Allen might be sitting out another game with a sore ankle, but knowing our luck he'll be back for this big match-up tomorrow. So, I'll leave him in the starting line-up.

This is a huge test for the Raptors and if we can keep it close then I like our chances considering how resilient and consistant we've been on defense over the last couple weeks.

Predict and discuss!

Default Ray Allen Will Not Play

After sitting out Friday night's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Ray Allen will not travel with the Boston Celtics to Toronto for Sunday's game against the Raptors. Allen came to the Celtics practice facilities on Saturday afternoon dressed and ready to go, but Doc Rivers wants him to take more time off.

"I just told him, I said, 'Ray, you sat one game and then we play a 1 o'clock game on Sunday. That's not enough time,'" Rivers said. "I think that's just smarter and he agreed."

Allen is battling a sore ankle that he sprained in a November game against the Charlotte Bobcats. He played through the pain and didn't tell anyone about the injury during the game. Even though Allen hit the game-winning three, Rivers wish he had known at the time.

"(Celtics Trainer) Eddie (Lacerte) said if he would have told him during the game, then they could have taped it and prevented some swelling," Rivers said. "But Ray never said a word. He didn't say it to anybody. I never saw him sprain it. And then after the game he takes the tape off, his ankle's big."

Rivers pointed out on Friday night that it is still early in the season and there are plenty of games left for Allen to play.

And so it begins...the string of injuries to Allen...

Sore ankles turn into sore knees, which turn into bad backs...hipbone's connected to...

Yahoo preview is available for those who care. Editted the line-up taking Allen out and adding Tony Allen as the starter which I assume he'll be. I can't find anything on Perkins coltrane, so at this point I'm assuming he'll be dressing for today.

WOW ... horrible game. Rondo made Jose his bitch and for the first time this yeat Calderon looked and played horrible. Ah well, everyone's entitled to a bad game every once in a while.

On to LA to play the Clips Tuesday night.

A sad game.. it hurt the eyes.

In spite of that game, I like the direction the team has been going. Clippers have been going down, except for Captain Kaveman, so this should be a convenient bounce-back game for us and help build some momentum.

man the celtics piss me off cuz outside of the big 3 they suck ass lol..i gues everyone is just playing "out of thier minds" just knowing that they are palying with the big 3.

I think the big 3 could make me look like an allstar lol.

Go figure, a year that i thought we had a much better chance to win, the celtics have to go and make themselves instant contenders...fawwk lol.

But on a serious note, the celtics are a tough team to beat. Its do-able i just think we had a bad game...there can be no mental lapses or crappy shooting games when you play them else you are in trouble.

I never thought boston would be 20-2 at this point in the season..i knew theyd be good but wow!

Three things hurt Jose today.

1. His inability to match Rondo's speed (this is what I have been talking about with TJ owning Rondo...he can match Rondo's speed on D and he's faster than him on the other end);

2. I don't know why he has been leaving his feet so often on his passes, he's putting himself in bad situations, looking for an escape route that often isn't there;

3. He needs to stop wiping out or going down looking for a foul. When you're a European player, the refs are going to be quick to label you as a "flopper" or "diver", somebody looking for fouls. Until he stays on his feet on a more regular basis and stops yapping about fouls, he isn't going to get the calls he deserves.

Jose didn't have a great game....but the raps shot about 30% from the field for much of the game....so he would definately have more assists if guys made the shots they usually made....i would've liked to see him a bit more aggressive with the ball and look to score a bit more.....but overall the team shot bad

I knew Boston would be good....but not this good!!

Whats wrong with Andrea? He's havin a lot of trouble so far this year.....

Hey Jay the biggest thing that hurt Jose was not the speed of Rondo. Calderon's strength became his weakness in the game. Rondo is not a very good defender and Calderon did not take advantage. Calderon's strength is to move the ball and the Celtics defended against the pass. When Calderon wanted to be the scorer he was effective however he did not attack the basket very often. Jose must learn to be a little "team selfish" attacking the basket and finishing instead of dishing. Jose is the smartest point guard we have and I am sure he will learn from this game. He is turning into one of the best shooting point guards in the league. His d is not as bad as it looks, it was team d that hurt us. Rondo got alot of open looks yesterday because if you watched the rapts d they would double team down low, it was Jose many times that would drop down and provide the double team only for a celtic player to kick it out to RONDO. To the basketball eye it seemed that the game plan was for Rondo to be shooter and don't let the big 2 beat you. Mitch sets up the plan on how to defend,the stragety just didn't work mitch will learn from this... we must come up with a better team d to beat this club. Having 1 or 2 good defenders on the floor will not win you games. It's all about playing good team d and it all boils down on understanding the opposition weakest, setting up an effective plan and finally execution.

Well said, but if Rondo is beating you on the dribble, you have to adjust. You want him to shoot the ball, so play off him and let him shoot. No way should he be beating Jose on the dribble. Inexcusable.
