Caught up in all this hubbub about the lockout, I almost forgot that DD is poised for a break year this season. Yay.

very good video. highlighted three things which are essential in toronto indeed getting a star in the near future.

1) although may be just propoganda and wanting more merchandise sales, it seems sincere that he really likes this city

2) showed the huge steps derozan took last year which greatly developed his scoring touch a) movement to avoid crashes and charges on drives/ increased in-air body control leading to more finishes and b) his mid range jump shot was what some could deem as excellent.

3) the video shows us what he still must work on and improve on this season which will be crucial in him reaching the next level or not

a) defensive ability: he has the physique, now just has to hone in on them (video only showed two defensive plays, a block and steal

b) three point range: not asking him to be kobe but if he can get his percentage up to 30 guards will have to close in on him more giving him more ability to drive effectively and utlisize his athletic abilities

im down right giddy

I wonder how Derozan is going to handle TO with no Sonny Weems. I guess he is going to have to mature as a person and as a player. Its going to be a tough season, but help is on the way. It would be nice if he had another California native Aaron Aafalo by his side. Lets go BC, you have less than 3 weeks before the season starts.

^^I think with Sonny gone there will be less distractions for DeRozan.

i don't know, but who really cares. Surely Derozan isn't at the stage where he needs to be coddled and have players brought in here to please him. To answer your question he should handle T.O. just fine as he is pretty familiar with it and he's been pretty vocal about how he likes it here. Maybe he can show some of the other young players around town regardless where they are from.

Wherever Demar was, there was Sonny. It kinda reminded me of the Steve Francis and Mobley connection in Houston and Orlando. We all remember how Steve Francis reacted when Mobley was traded out of Orlando. We should remember Demar is still in his young twenties. No, Demar is no Steve Francis, but with his colleague and mentor (Jack) gone, there maybe a lack of leadership in this team.

I guess in the past i used to somewhat worry about what a player thought about the team or the city or what have you, but i'm just over it. It's on them to get to like it here, and if they don't too bad for them. They get paid too much to sulk and frankly most of the players on this current squad aren't good enough for us to be all up in arms if we end up losing them.
