Default Game 2 necessary adjustments

#1 thing we need to do is force Dwight away from the basket one way or the other. Rasho has played great all year, but to beat ORL we have to either force him on Bosh or force him to guard one of our swingmen or Bargs at the 3 point line. This will allow Bosh a lot more breathing space to make his moves and itll also allow him to get on the offensive boards and cause fouls on Hedo and Shard. Or, if they put Howard on Bosh even better, then Bosh will either get fouled or get layups and tire him out a bit. Rashos great but our best matchups may be with him out of the game.

#2 is starting either Bargs at center and re inserting Moon, or going Bosh+4 smalls. Itll improve our perimeter defence a bit at least and we wont give up as many 3's on simple dribble penetration. A lineup of TJ,Parker, Delfino, Moon and Bosh would be good, is this no the lineup that primarily played in the 2nd game of the regular season anyway when we won with Moon at PF or am I remembering wrong?

#3 is if we dont go small and still decide to have Rasho in the game, putting Bosh on Evans is a must. Saves his energy and gives us length on the right side of the court so Nelson wont get 4 layups. That and he'll be able to come in to rebound more in guarding Evans than Lewis since Lewis moves a lot more without the ball.

#4 never go to the big lineup ever again.

#5, if going small or playing Bargs at center fails, play Joey!!!!!

Only way we'll improve perimeter defense is getting into the players faces and not allowing them the 2 to 3 feet breathing room which we've done often this season especially yesterday. In the 3rd quarter we got up into the Magic players faces and it proved to be effective.

Removing Rasho from the starting line-up and replacing him with Andrea is ludicrious Thriller. Not from an defensive standpoint, but offensive one. Eventhough in the 2nd half he struggled Rasho still proved to be the only effective Raptor in the paint. Sure D12's presence is going to be a distraction, but that still doesn't mean we should settle as that jump shootong team we've always been. Rasho and Bosh have to get Dwight in foul trouble if we stand any chance of winning this series. They must go at him hard. Two best players to do that are Rasho and Bosh. Not Andrea.

Its not a point of being the best players, I know they are, and Rasho will never pick up fouls on Dwight because he doesnt go up strong because he doesnt really have the athleticism to. Hes not gonna get foul calls shooting jump hooks. It's a point of getting the matchups in our favor and making Dwight either guard Bosh or guard the 3 point line so Bosh doesnt have to worry about Howard as the 2nd line of defence.

Having Rasho 15 feet away on the other side isnt going to deter Howard from getting over to Bosh, but forcing him to play Bargnani(or one of our swingmen if SVG doesnt choose to put him on Bosh) on the other side 24 feet from the basket will. We'll either get a wide open 3 off the swing pass or Bosh will be able to go 1 on1 a lot easier.

No double on Howard.

Period.

Let him score 50.

Kidnap Gregg Popovich, give Smitch an earphone to conceal during the game, and then tell Pop to coach the game for us from a warehouse in San Antonio or we'll kill his children.

or just play defense

One thing i noticed is that every time ORL double swings it, or does a skip pass, the guy has at least 2 whole seconds to shoot. 2 seconds is a lot of time to shoot, and that's why they've been getting those 9/11 3pts or whatever that first quarter. I know it's hard, but with this team, we have got to stay on our man, if you're gonna help, make sure it's a quick help and you go right back to your man.

Your attempts to state necessary adjustments are futile. Smitch isn't going to adjust to anything.

well you're partially right Jump

attempts to mak adjustments on here only lack because all of the armchair wizards here have about as much BBall knowledge as Mitchell does in his left nut.

Myself included of course.

Everyone else in the league seems to think Smitch isn't great, CERTAINLY NOT COTY material.
Lol when was the last time you ever heard someone credit-worthy giving props to Mitchell?

They barely even went into Howard for post ups, he scored 3 times MAX on post moves.

Yeah, in the 4th when the game was out of hand after they went on a 9-0 run. They should be guarding the 3pt line with their lives and making Howard make turnaround hook shots and ft's all series. Bring the 6 foul equation into the mix. Play Humps and Brezec to beat the shit out of him and force the ball out of Hedo's hands.

We're just playing into their hands with the matchups as they are, but I never expected Smitch to come out with any kind of gameplan anyway. He thinks we contested shots well in the 1st qtr when they hit an NBA record 9 3's, thats all that needs to be said about his coaching IQ

Whats he supposed to say to a media market that is gonna roast his players?

Think he didn't tear into them?

Do you think the game is discussed and coached from press conference audio clips Thriller?

Have you no concept of what actually goes on?

I mean I know you must, you're a smart kid, be fuck, you let your heart get in the way for too often man.

The only way to beat this team is to do it with Howard on the bench, and there's only one way to do that. early fouls.

Thats on every one of those guys.

Bargnani, Bosh, Ford, Parker.

They HAVE to bust it inside as hard a sthey can, I don't care if he has 10 blocks, if he has 4 fouls to go with him, he sits, and then who guard Bosh?????

Lets be honest, Toronto didn't show up in the first half of game one, they did the same thing last year. If they do show up, and they do make it a war, they can win.

There, I said it. They can win.

But not from outside.

Your idea of bringing in the Stiffs to hack Howard, i'm all for, especially Hump, because we all know where hump likes to go withthe ball, and thats to the rim. But hack him with single coverage, not doubles (which with these incoherent schleps, almost always turns into 2.5 teams miscommunication leaving 2 guys open, WIDE open.

Meh, we'll see tonight. I hope our fearless leader came brings more than his mouth in Game two. He needs to wach the Wiz Cavs games, thats a WAR, those teams WANT IT!!!!
