Yes! That would get me excited now. I would love to see the guy in the right role on a well-balanced team.

It's so easily assumed that defensive 5's are just floating around waiting to be taken in. It's probably the thinnest position in the league, and across all leagues internationally.... not only is it thin, but frail too. Probably the shortest average career span of all starting positions in the NBA....

Note: I may not be able to prove it, but I'd suggest it at least seems likely to me... lol

I'm not claiming they're a dime a dozen, so don't pretend that I have made such an assumption. I'm saying that a defensive center is what is needed to make this team successful. Doesn't need to be a defensive stalwart but needs to at least be an average defender.

Absolutely not making that assumption... but trading bigs in a league that struggles to find enough size better mean that you're clearly getting the better player. I'd suggest it's unknown who will be the better player at this point.

My point isn't that you said it was easy, my point is that it isn't easy.

The two players are very similar but Bargnani is a better scorer. Neither is better at defending than the other. check out the stats at NBA.com and compare players.

SO I would say... New York can keep him. We are already pretty redundant in the PF position.

Thirdly - there was Marcus Banks, Shawn Marion, your big hack Jake, another hack in Linton Johnson as well as Leandro, and the reneged deal for Diaw. So that would be six.

Lastly, it could be a good move. I don't know about great. The guy was called out by his coach for lacking heart. That doesn't exactly scream out potential for defensive excellence. To me - and it's mostly out of a lack of optimism in this regard - a move like this would speak to a desire to emphasize offense. I did say Bryan could pull of some kind of magic. It's not like I discounted the whole idea. It's just not what I've been looking for. I'd like to see a team that can win 50+. If we can do that with a bunch of offensive weapons then good. I'm not counting on it though.

More like 99.9999%.

And how could I forget the very important and magical Linton Johnson and his six game career in Phoenix and of course Marcus Banks... both who didn't even play for the Suns when Colangelo was employed by them. Shame on me!

D'Antoni also called him the greatest shooter he's ever seen. On a team that can't shoot worth a shit, I think he'd be a valuable asset if available for the right price. Although it looks like Denver wants more than what BC would be willing to offer, so it's probably all a moot point anyway.

I'd rather see Gallinari starting at SF than Sonny Weems.

any idea if Kleiza would be welcomed back in Denver? I understand nobody likes to see micro-fracture... but maybe Kleiza could be part of a package to nab Galinari.... Raps could throw three million reasons at Denver too.

Kleiza, Alabi, 3M and Miami pick for Gallo?

maybe, or because they couldn't justify paying Melo's backup that much.... but if Toronto is throwing 3M at them, doesn't that seem worth it?

I think Denver would all right to take Kleiza. It sounds possible.

reggies expiring might be less of an asset than Kleiza and 3M.

I laugh at this comment Acie. I remember so many people saying how Kapono had the sweetest release of all time and look how he turned out...

Its funny because this guy is a massive chucker, yet you all jerk him like we are getting Ray Allen in the house or something....am i missing something...hes not a defensive specialist and has a mediocre offense game @ 41%fg, what does he really bring here? more mediocrity to the SF position?

he's 22 man... he gets to the line a bunch, has his fair share of posters, has been a big part of an over-500 team and all you see is kapono... lol

Tell me what do you see? I see a Bellini 2.0 if your asking. FYI, they are only 2 games above .500 anyways

An inconstant shooter, that can drive and get fouled, and has some three point range, sometime... lets look at his last few games and his FG and 3pt shooting for those games:

FGM/A
5 - 12
2 - 5
4 - 15
3 - 13
3 - 6
4 - 12
7 - 14

3ptsm/a
3 - 8
1 - 2
0-6
1-8
0-3
1-4
1-5

Oh man, so exciting. All that production in 34min/game......go look at bellini's numbers (fg, 3pt shooting) and try to tell me this guy is not 2.0
