Danilo is great. He is a winner, first of all. He plays defense, he works for the team. He is not only a shooter, look at his number of free throws attempts. Toronto needs a SF, a shooter and a defender: Danilo would be perfect.

David Lee was an all-star.

Also, do you forget about guys like Kukoc, Gasol(s), Vlade, Peja etc?

How about great players like the Logo? Larry Legend? John Havlicek? Pete Maravich? John Stockton?

Seriously, race SHOULD play NO part.

Players are players. Play the game the right way and you'll be on my team. This whole "let's not draft white, international guys" schtick gets really old.

I'd argue they were the best team to never have won a championship. Up there with the 1996 Jazz.

I think the dude was trying to say that White International players haven't brought success to the Raptors. Andrea puts up the numbers, but not the wins. Same with Jose. Kleiza hasn't been effective...Belinelli was not used properly (in my opinion) along with Turk.

Maybe it's just a coincidence, maybe not.....I've always leaned toward the the bad coaching system both with Sam and Triano...

Now obviously, we can say the same for the African American players that the Raps have spent money on as far as team success is concerned. But for the past few years, the system has always been "International style of play" and it hasn't worked out (again, in my opinion).

We need to change it up, fire Triano, and hire a coach who'll realize that soft guys like Jose, Andrea, and potentially Gallo are not good enough to build around. They're all role players at best.

I'd definitely be interested in Galinari on the cheap! As long as they don't touch our draft pick and a few of our key players, I'd be fine with it.

Sources say Clippers dangling 1st round pick from Minny to Denver for Gallinari. Pick is Top 10 protected in 2011, unprotected in 2012.
Twitter / Chris Broussard: Sources say Clippers dangl ...

Yeah, there's no way we top that. Nor should we.

maybe i went about it the wrong way, but you essentially summed it up pretty nicely. i'm just not for the Raptors international style they are adopting. its hard not to find white/international players on a team today but to play euro style won't translate in the NBA. its hard to find a team without an international player but they are not the focal point (in most cases). we just have too many on one team.
this is just what i think,
if BC can build a team of international guys and win then i love to be proven wrong

Exactly.

Something like Gallo for Miami's pick, Sonny and Alabi would be a steal.

hmm... interesting because i don't remember much success being brought to the Raptors period. regardless of what the ethnicity was of our players.

So really now... You lot trying to make this a debate of race/where the players come from - i can assure you that you ARE WRONG. OK let's move on.

We currently have 4 European-born players on our roster and one of them went to high school in the States and played collegiately in the US and we hardly play an international style of basketball.
