Default Front-Loaded Contracts for Pops and Delfino?

No, I'm not announcing any signings (although that kind of title might bring in more readers). This is more of a question for you guys - what do you think of front-loading the contracts with Pops and/or Delfino should they get done? I think it would be wise with the upcoming decline in the cap/luxury tax threshold. We have the space for them this year (as well as Rasho with the LLE), if not a roster spot (Ukic for a 2nd round draft pick, anyone?), but that space may not exist in the near future. Wouldn't it make sense to get most of the financial committment to them out of the way before we have to pay dollar-for-dollar (luxury tax) in upcoming seasons? I might be missing something but it seems like a no-brainer to me. What are your thoughts?

Yes, it would be a smart idea, but I think Colangelo is trying to go one step further and only sign guys to 1-year deals.

(The bi-annual exception is an exception, that is a 2 year deal.)

I think you might see Delfino at 5 million for 1 year, or 4 million or less over 2.

Rasho will be a 2 year deal.

Sounds like a good idea. If BC is going to sign Delfino (a move I'm not entirely sure is nescessary) and Pops + Rasho then it makes sense to front load the contract while they are still under the luxury tax this year

there better be shyt load of ppl with expiring contracts or else we will have no money to give Bosh a decent raise next year. At least not with being under the luxury tax

^ there is all the room in the world and MLSE said that BC can go over tax to sign a bigname player. Bosh I guess is a big named player.

And in regards to expirings:
George--1,600,000
Wright--1,800,000
Ukic--1,350,000
Douby--855,00
POB--855,000
Rasho--1,900,000

Total: $8,360,000
And really if Bosh resigns the new contract would start out somewhere between 16 and 18 million, we would have enough room under tax to add the 3 million on to his current salary and still stay under it. This would allow team to resign Bosh, add our Draft pick and add MLE player(s) and stay under tax.
