ok, so the phrase short term pain for long term gain is a motto for all gm's? man, no wonder fans get upset as the Raptors fans are right now. to me, that is the bottom line, the product on the floor. as i have said on other threads, 47 wins as a franchise record is not really something to brag about. I really think the management of this team is doomed to run it into the "rebuilding" mode the loafs are in every year. The Celtics took a huge chance and seem to have come out with the KG deal and a couple of free agent deals... this year, they look better and lost posey who was the man in the playoffs for them. i am beginning to understand the business of the NBA but unless the product improves, mlse won't have the bums in the seats they need to put the bums on the bench to get the floor wiped with their asses night after night.. maybe i am still missing something but you have to put more value in a guy than just his salary, no?

Deng needs a pg with an outside shot as he doesnt have it,and not to mention his numbers are back down to normal, Hinrich gives us an otion at 2 and a solid backup pg, and Noah a defensive C Washington would be Butler/Haywood or nothing for us. Dallas-Howard and Dampier NY-Gross |

arsonal, can you please stop creating a new thread for every thought that pops into your head...especially if you've already started the exact same thread at an early time.
Thanks. |

Nah. He screwed up so far this year but we have come a long way from those 4-5 years of depression.
He'll get us to where we should be soon. Hes an action GM, he isnt going to just sit on his hands. Something big is going to happen before the trade deadline, it has to. |

Let's be realistic. No changes are going to come as a result of THIS loss specifically.
No way does Brian Colangelo jump to the phone after an embarrassing loss like this and start throwing players away under duress. That would be a situation that would have other general managers salivating: "We'll take this guy for a sack of potatoes, oh and him for a baby goat, etc." It'd be like Babcock trading for Vince all over again. I have no idea what the nail in the coffin is going to be, and to be honest I'm not even sure if there will be a defining point that will act as the impetus for an overhaul. I just know that I wouldn't be surprised if no changes are made, period. |

Why are you guys bitching about the trade for JO? Are you suggesting that you KNEW this was coming? It's so easy to look in retrospect everything that went wrong but it's predicting the future that is most challenging. I understand everyone is frustrated but you can't be impulsive and fire everyone and trade everyone because guess what you can end up with something WORSE.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() this is exactly the point i have been making for the past 2 days on here... do you really think he can be trusted to "do the right thing" at this point? he has not made 1 excellent move for this team to help the on floor product and if he has his eye set on 2010, then we will be a 20 - 25 game winning team for the next 2 seasons? IF THAT!! wow, that is not a good way to run any business and do you really think any one wants to come here let alone stay here with management that makes shit smell pleasent? let's start sending Chris our "thanks for the memories" email now, there is NO way in hell he is staying here. i suspect he has already asked for a trade. this team is going down hill with no brakes. that is directly a result of BC as he put this "excellent" team together. |

So bringing in guys like Garbo, Parker, Delfino, Rasho and Moon weren't good moves? Being able to re-sign Bosh and Calderon weren't good moves? Ridding ourselves of TJ "one bad fall from being paralyzed" Ford and his lengthy deal for a hell of a player and highly valuable trading asset in JO wasn't a good move? Seriously, what do you know that Bryan doesn't? I hardly think writing 500 word summaries of the most recent game make you a managerial expert. ![]() |

Whats wrong with Oneal?
He got rid of an issue by solving another. In case you havn't noticed, Oneal does soe really good things on the court. This entire team is better than they are playing, they just all suck right now. Something will give, something will break, and then the ship will steady a little better. It's sure ugly right now. |
