Free agent thread

Heyy guys i just thought I'd start a thread about the Free agents that the Raptors can pick up this year to fill the gaps made by delfino, garbo and mabye even AP.

Here's my first-

I personaly think that the Raptors should go after a playere like matt barnes. he's a UFA and is everything this team is looking for. He is a gritty defend a strong shooter and a guy we can rely on for 10 points a night if he starts. I would love to see him in TO.

there's my opinion go crazy guys

PS its my first thread go easy

Nothing that much better than Pietrus...either Azubuikie or Tony Allen, but of which are on par with Pietrus's ability. Duhon is eh, id rather snag Mason JR or Lou Williams (although he wont really be available...We need a scorer off the bench at Point especially with the pass happy Calderon starting.

May have been nice to see BC trade up in the draft for a Chalmers

If Delfino doesnt resign I say go for Pietrus.
How about making some noise and bring Magloire to T.O as our backup center?
I imagine this will be our 08-09 lineup:

Starters:
PG Jose Calderon
SG Anthony Parker
SF Jamario Moon
PF Chris Bosh
C Jermaine Oneal ?

bench:
PG/SG Roko Ukic
SG/SF Carlos Delfino
SF/SG Jason Kapono
F/C Andrea Bargnani
C/F FA ?
SG/SF TRADE ?
PF/C Kris Humphries

Reserve:
C/PF Nathan Jawai (will most likely spend some time in D-League to develop his game)
?
?

Duhon is going to be too expensive as a back-up and we need 2 more PG's too, not to mention a swing man and probably one more big man. We're likely going to fill the left over voids with NBA "drifters" or D-Leaguers. I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything more.

BC has gone after Duhon and Pietrus before - that's why those two are on my list. Chicago is overstaffed with PGs at the moment, so Duhon is not likely to receive an offer from them and Pietrus has been unhappy in GS for some time now. "All" we need to do would be outbidding other suitors.

Why are you so high on Nachbar? He's okay, but I wouldn't start him ahead of Moon or Kapono.

So because he played good against the Raptors, we should sign him? Man, everyone plays good against us. I wouldn't be surprised if he signs a cheap deal with Jersey. He can start next year.

I don't like nachbar. He's a shorter version of Bargnani with a worse shot. Another player made "famous" by Jason Kidd. After the Kidd trade his numbers dipped. I'd rather have pietrus. I think we will go hard after Posey to be honest. I know he said he'd like to stay and all that, but really, they all say that. Overpay him and he'll jump ship in a second. He already has 2 titles, doesn't really need to play for an absolute contender. Also, he would be a starter in Toronto, not a bench player like in Boston.

You'd have to pay Nachbar the full MLE. You think the Raptors are the only team vying for his servcies? You think he's gonna come here because he likes this "whole euro thing" we're doing? Please. He's going to the place where he's gonna get paid, and it won't be in Toronto.
