We should go after James Posey. He put up some average numbers this year, even for a bencher. I dunno I thought he performed pretty well in the playoffs.

I was just looking at the FA list and if we're bargain shoppers I bet we could land some of these guys:

a. Gelabele from Seattle. He reminds me alot of Shefolsha from the Bulls and would be a nice guy on the wing off the bench

b. Brian Skinner. I'm not too sure how old he is, but he's a serviceable big man off the bench, likes rebounding. And is just another big body that I don't think will be expensivle

c.Hermann from Detroit. I was impressed by him when he was in Charlotte. Didn't get a chance last season to play. I think he could be a steal.

d. Lindsey Hunter. I want someone with some veteran savvy to be the third pg. I could even imagine Kevin Ollie back there, just to calm things down and run the offence.

skinner will probably stay in Phoenix, same with Linday Hunter - we might have a shot at this type of player next season, assuming we have a very successful 2008.

The Two that i like on that lust are Gelable and hermann. Gelable is a very energetic player who could provide a spark off the bench that we were looking for last year. Hermann is quite reliable and we could give him minutes without worrying if a player is in bad foul trouble or injured

Chris Duhon is being heavily pursued by the Knicks who reportedly are offering him about 4 mill a year and he would be the starter. Forget about Duhon guys, it is very unlikely. Try guys like Tony Allen and maybe Matt Barnes.

The one thing I realized when compiling that small list was how difficult it actually is to be a GM. To go through these names and figure out which one would help you the most, man it would be difficult. But there are gems out there.

How poisonous do you think Bonzi Wells would be for us? he could be a scoring option off the bench for us? Do you think he will get a full MLE offer? I also like Jarvis Hayes from Detoit, and Carlos Arroyo. What do you guys think, can we afford any of them?

Bonzi Wells would have to back-up Moon. And he'll be 32 by the time the season starts. He didn't have his best numbers last year either. And besides, he only played half a season with Houston, who knows? Maybe they'll want to keep him?

Jarvis Hayes is even worse, lol. He's in his prime and had like 2/3 of Wells' numbers. What good would he do?

Arroyo, it actually depends how Roko would turn out. If he'd be good enough to back-up Jose than Arroyo wouldn't be worth it. He'll be reaching the end of his prime by the time the season comes and only had 7 ppg/3.5 ast.

How about Shaun Livingston? He hasn't been offered a qualifying contract, I would like to see the Raptors put together a 2-year deal and a team option in order to lock him up. I know the injury risk that's above his head, but with a conditional contract and the ability to earn more of your contract as the season goes on - I think it would be a good gamble to take, especially if he is able to turn the corner this season and maintain a good amount of backup minutes.

If all is good - he has more potential as a combo guard than anyone we could get on free agency, and there would be no better or cheaper time to invest in a player that has good leadership skills, character, and a work ethic that is rarely tested in the NBA.

Just a thought.

I think Childress could help us out alot, think there is any chance we can get him for a full MLE? ESPN makes it sound like thats all it would take..

Also, if the rumores are true and Indiana buys out Rasho, I think we should nab him back too. Just in case the Jawai doesn't work out, we need a backup Center. Rasho proved last year he can be a pretty effective low post player IMO. And he has won championships. What do you guys think?

We no longer possess the full MLE if I'm not mistaken. It was eaten into by Roko and Hassan's contracts.

If Indy buys out Rasho they would be foolish. Why buy him out when he's expiring at the end of the year anyway? Do they really need that roster spot for Kareem Rush or whoever?

If it went down though, I would love to see Rasho back here for the minimum.

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Clippers said Wednesday that they had renounced their rights to Shaun Livingston, the recuperating guard who is an unrestricted free agent, and four other players.

The other players are Dan Dickau, Boniface Ndong, Smush Parker and James Singleton.

Livingston, taken by Los Angeles as the fourth overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft, hasn't played since injuring his left knee in a game on Feb. 26, 2007.

The Clippers declined to give him a $5.8 million qualifying offer this summer.

According to the NBA collective bargaining agreement, a renounced player no longer counts toward team salary, so teams use renouncement to gain additional cap room. A team can still re-sign such a player, but the team must either have enough salary cap room to fit the salary, or sign the player using the minimum salary exception.

After renouncing a player, a team also can trade him in a sign-and-trade agreement.

Looks like now LAC's making moves to have money to sign a free agent or absorb a big contract. I guess it's a good sign they're working on freeing up some money. Livingston would have counted for something like $5 million on the cap, so it's no surprise they let him go, it was gonna have to happen eventually IMO.

This is fantastic.

Let the Boniface Ndong to Toronto movement begin.

I swear to God I would buy a jersey.
