If we drafted Walker, then maybe get DeAndre Jordan, plus Dwane Casey actually bringing defense to this team. Trading Bargnani and Calderon for good all round players. I honestly say we would have a good choice to make the 8th spot.
Starting Lineup
PG-Walker
SG-Derozan
SF-Johnson
PF-Davis
C-Jordan

But then again, BC just had to go out and draft one of the Jonas Brothers!

I am starting to like this scenario specifically if Barbosa doesn’t take his option. This could get interesting specifically when we have a hard cap as we will be way under the CAP right now 62 Million. What this means is

We could through money at good veteran or young hard nosed two way players

Small Forward: Tayshaun Prince or Wilson chandler

Center: Tyson Chandler / DeAndre Jordan / Reggie and Joey / Greg Oden Only if passes physical

If we were to get a veteran center on a three year deal and young hard nosed player like Wilson even over paying a little bit more will make a lot sense.

This will allow 2 think depending on which route BC choices:

a. This will allow this young team learn how to win basketball games
b. This does not affect our future as we already have a center [ Val] and power forward [ED] who can be developed a force in the paint
c. They could even make a run to play offs

This also allows the following:

Raptors collected enough assets which will allow them to acquire all star level talent

a. We could acquire an all star level talent from a team that needs to dump salary due to the hard CAP
b. If we truly make the 6 mark or 5 mark in eastern conference we could attract a top level talent based on the chance to be a contender in free agency. – May be I am over stretching a bit but this could be possible

If theres MLE in new CBA, we use it
Other than that I don't want us pushing below salary cap

Tomorrow it should be clear on Barbosa situation. I hope he stays.

Not much talent available in MLE territory. We are better off keeping our free agents. Except Reggie

Dalembert must be the mystery free agent centre Casey and BC are talking about.
Defensive legit veteran, not hard to get, would want to play in Canada.

yeah, dalembert seems to fit doesn't he. Good enough (just about,) other teams might be interested, but not desperate. fits the bill of what you'd think casey would like defense wise and personality wise.

to me dalembert would be a perfect fit
he has good defensive, 1 of the best shot blockers, great rebounder, basically everything we lack
as long as he knows that he'll be 1 of the bottom options on the offense he is an amazing player, its when he starts thinking the ball should be passed to him
