He has been at a really high level these past few games, if he can become consistent with this and as other people said, if he can improve is midrange game he will be a good player. Although even if he ddoes improve his midrange game I still want to see him attack like he does now andd not just be dependant on his shot

I think DeRozan has many many moves in his pocket. He use a few of those in real game. We will be surprised every month with this guy.
He's like an Iceberg, actually, we're seeing one-ninth of the volume of DeRozan

the pull up would be nice. It's just a matter of pulling back on his aggressiveness just a little bit. we saw nice pull up jumpers in summer league. He can do it. He's got nice body control. He just has to get a better feel for when to make use of it.

he's following the evolution of the star athletic wingman
1st year is the getting used to the league where there are occasions where he'll look like a star and the athleticism gives him a good game, nobody really knows him and the other team doesn't really care too much to put him in their defensive gameplan
2nd year he's used to the league, the speed and the refs and his skills are showing on a regular basis, his shot starts falling and teams catch on and start focusing their gameplan around him, which is what i think will start to happen to demar during the 2nd half of the season when teams get a second look at him
3rd year teams focus on him and double team him, making him have to think and use his teammates, this is what i hope demar will be ready for

my only concern here is that his overall skill level is not where i thought it would be by now, his shot needs to be more consistent and his ball skills need a lot of work, i don't even care that his defense is a little shotty because thats a little exaggerated with the rest of the team being poor defenders too, sure he's young and inexperienced as a person but you can ride that youth excuse only so much, players are developing much quicker these days with all the exposure they get to bball from a young age
i'm setting my expectations low because he's looking like a late bloomer or his cap maybe at a slightly below star type player, i'm not going to look to that star level with him
i do like his aggressiveness to attack the basket whenever he can and that there are some clear improvements, but he's really got to develop his stuff at a faster, professional sports is becoming more and more about quicker returns, teams can't wait that long for a player to develop
article says 2-3 years, he really needs to do this in 1-2 years, especially when contracts are not as long as they used to be, its too much for a team like the Raptors to have to sign him for more money the next time are hope that the it'll happen during that next contract, there's too many players on the team like that, bargs/amir/even calderon's contract is based on if he could truly develop into a starting PG

will after every full rookie contract the player is always a restricted free agent, it was a rule put in after the last CBA in an effort to force those young guys to stay with their 1st team instead of jet off to somewhere else the 1st chance they get because a lot of those early pick teams are usually the bad teams which are usually the teams that players don't want to stay in either

but i think demar is a 3 year contract with a 4th year team option that was picked up, something like that, either way its a 4 year total contract which means he has 2 more season after this one before we most likely sign him again, which is why i say he needs to develop in the next 1-2 years because i don't want to see another big $ contract based on the assumption that the player will live up to it by continual improvement in their game, i want to see the player earn the right to negotiate that price before its given to them

Demar is developing fine! He'll need to develop consistency in his game and continue work on his game. Sooner or later the 3point shot will come. I agree with some people here to work on his floaters. Once his defense comes on and his outlet passing, he'll be a solid player.

He'll be a free agent in 4 years.

2012-2013 - team option we'll most certainly pick up for $3.3 million that season. 2013-2014 a qualifying offer of $4.5M that, again we will pick up. After that, in the summer of 2014, he'll be I believe free agent. If he's playing well then we'll be discussing long-term extentions in either the summer of 2014 or 2015.

He is showing yoy improvement and thats what you want from any player.

He still needs to work on the fundamentals ... ball control / dribbling and mid range jumper. He has no 3 pt shot and that will also be needed to get to the next level.

Another area no one has mentioned is that should bulk up some .. with his aggressiveness he gets bounced around too much. Add 15-20 pounds of steel and maintain quickness (not an easy task) .... some defenders will start to move aside.
At least he will start to hurt others vs getting thrown around like a bag.
