Hmmm ... some questionable rankings in Mike's Top 10.

Disagree or agree with him?

9) Jason Kidd
10) Jose Calderon, Toronto Raptors

The Raptors finally had to make a decision at point guard between Calderon and T.J. Ford, and the way the 6-3 Calderon played last season when Ford was out with yet another injury simplified the decision for president Bryant Colangelo. In fact, it even allowed them to move Ford and take a big gamble on the rehabilitation of former All-Star Jermaine O'Neal. Nonetheless, it still leaves a huge responsibility for Calderon. Although his numbers dropped after Ford returned because of lost minutes, he still played in all 82 games, averaging 11.2 points, 8.3 assists (vs. just 1.54 turnovers). He also shot a blistering 52 percent from the field, 43 percent from 3-point range and nearly 91 percent from the free-throw line. In other words, the 26-year-old Spaniard can shoot lights out, distribute the ball and doesn't turn it over. Maybe it wasn't a tough decision, after all.

NO WAY do Kidd and Miller come before Calderon, it's ridiculous. But then again, you can tell this guy's a moron when he puts deron williams before steve nash ...

Had this list been done two years ago I would totally agree with you milk, but now? Uh-uh ... I'd take Deron any day over Captain Canada. Deron and Paul are easily the best in the game for their respective position. Not even close. Unfortunately Steve is on the decline now.

I think the list is pretty fair. If Jose can build off of what he did last year he'll move up that list and any others.

Bryant Colangelo?

Maybe you're thinking overal value, when indeed, since nash has at most a couple of years left, williams is a better investment.

Other than that, Williams is still living off that great post season of two years ago, because really, what has he really accomplished since?. THis post season he only had one good game, the 7th against Houston, and even that wasn't all that great, but he made all those 3 pointers. Sure, he has nice stats during the regular season and he's better on defense, but Nash is the soul of that Phoenix team. Nash is what makes them a title contender (until Kerr decided to screw it royally ...), without him they won't get to .500. You can put Nash in any team in this league, and he will get that team to the playoffs. Heck, he even brought Canada close to an olympic medal ...

And come one, the only thing Deron and Chris Paul have in common is their draft year, Paul is in a different class by himself, probably better than Nash was in his MVP seasons. What he did the last post season was unbelievable, he was by far the best player in the playoffs.

You talk as if Nash has brought multiple rings to PHX.
He hasn't even taken the team to the Finals. He is a SICK player, but you can't say Deron hasn't accomplished anything when in fact he has taken his team as far as Nash has taken his (conference finals).

Not only that he's slowed down a bit.As has Jason Kidd.Neither is getting any younger and that should be taken into consideration.

Oh I dunno.

Last year around Allstar time all the analysts had Jose ranked 5th.

So take it for what its worth guys.

I will split that list into two lists: one for true point guards and another for short shooting guards who can't play the position they are naturally better suited for. And then I'll rank them, of course.

True PGs:

1. Chris Paul
2. Deron Williams
3. Steve Nash
4. Jose Calderon
5. Andre Miller
6. Jason Kidd

"Shooting" PGs:

1. Baron Davis
2. Gilbert Arenas
3. Chauncey Billups
4. Tony Parker

I would have TJ in there, and Miller not. And Jose should be a good three spots higher, but he does still need to prove himself.

The list looks good to me.

Miller is a very underrated player and has been very good for a long time.

Parker is little high IMO.

i still think billups is the best point guard in the league. that, and i also believe that deron is better than chris paul.

as for what LX said, i completely agree. do it for a full season, and then you'll see jose higher on the list.

if not for SA or Amare's injury, they would have had multiple rings. Their bad luck was that they had to face a SA team in its prime, and couldn't find a way to stop them. And when they had a chance to by pass SA, they had to play without Stodemire. And when they finally seems ready to beat them, the NBA screwed them, and after Bryant left and everything went downhill for them, with one horrible move after another.

Anyway, to me Deron Williams is barely a top 10 pg, so I might be biased.
