Default Ford Wants To Stick With Raptors

I'll be extremely disappointed if neither Ford or Calderon aren't dealt this summer. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't go through another season of "Forderon".

Would most of you agree?

"I want to be back," said Ford. "I never said anything about wanting to leave."

I'm with you Doc.

Here's my take:

this was a terrible combination.

you had too very good point guards. One with all the potential in the world, but with mulptiple personality and character issues that clearly found their way onto the court. The other who was very good himself, but was sometimes a little too nice and passive.

They didn't compliment each others games well at all, unlike what we all originally hoped and i'd say they were mismanaged by the coaching staff.

One of them should be gone and i am confident that Colangelo will correct the issue. Which one will likely be determined by what we get in return and how the team chemistry will look in the end.

I'm hoping it'll be Calderon that sticks with us, but at the same time i could live with TJ because he can and has been great.

If someone has to stay it should be Calderon. He has the mentality of a PG. Ford has the skills, but I don't think he can be a PG. We need a PG to get the rest of the team going.

If we lose Calderon and keep TJ and the replacement for Calderon isn't that good then there will be no threat to Ford as far as minutes go, and we'll have reruns of the TJ Show.

Not to drag on a topic that's been beaten to death and really is up in someone else's hands, i'll state simply that I can live with either one going forward but I do believe one should be moved to bring in some more talent.

to be honest, it was the other players that couldn't adjust.

Aside from a sewries of games where Tj was clearly bothered on and off the court with some personal stuff, he was Tj. And Calderon was Calderon.

The massive difference in thier style of play was almost impossible for the other guys to adjust to.

I Agree with that

TJ and Calederon when they are hot...those two make a killer combination and can most probaly be the most hardest backcourt to defend due to TJ's ability to score and break down a defender to Caledrons Court Sence...do they make a good comibation i think they do...why must they compliment each other when two of them brings a different look onto the court...do i want to keep both yes i do...but can we? NO!....

Reggie Evans and Micheal Redd....two players i wanna see become a raptor.

I'm down with trading whatever gets up more of a return - whether it's Jose or TJ. I'd feel comfortable with either one at the point.

How did our biggest strength become our biggest weakness?

If TJ is still here next season, watch for a steep decrease in Raptor fever.

I just hope BC does not take all summer to unload TJ or Jose. I really don't think that anyone is untouchable on our team. The fan favourite is Jose and fans would cry for a few days if he was on his way out. But thats business we got to do what is best for our team. We need to get a monster like Howard on our team. Are there any young guys with that much power in this years draft. Someone that we can groom to play center ?

The guy that could be attainable and bang - and relatively young - is Okafor. Guys like Howard aren't easy to come by.

Jose has a much bigger upside right now than TJ does.

+1

Last year it worked because other teams had troubles adjusting when we switched the tempo... this year it was us that was confused. If we had one or the other, we could build our team to their assets - A fast break team for TJ, a slow ball movement team for Calderon. With both, we aren't particularly good at either style, and it doesn't work.

Right now I'd rather have Calderon and judging from the fan reaction and his unselfish behavior this year, I strongly feel we'll have him. But the worst would be both, for sure.

I realized during the playoff series that I just don't like the way that TJ plays the game. Too immature (the mopy body language, the poor shot selection), too selfish (despite the assists).... too much flash and not enough substance.

I would be disappointed if he remained with the team next year, regardless of what we get in return.

The only way we don't trade TJ is if we don't get a fair price. I think it would be very stupid to do it in that case, UNLESS Jose makes it known to BC that is not willing to be a backup next season. While I think we play better with Jose, it's not like we completely fall apart the way we're playing now. Maybe TJ deserves another chance - next season will still be a building season, and we could roll the dice and maybe we'll get lucky.

However, if we can get something of equal value - then TJ is goooone.
