Reading more of some the articles regarding, I came upon this.

Quote:
Walsh's other options could be on the trade market, which could be quite active involving point guards this summer. The Toronto Raptors will do whatever it takes to re-sign restricted free agent Jose Calderon, which likely means T.J. Ford could be acquired in a trade. Another team that has a plethora of point guards is Memphis, which has to decide who among Mike Conley, Jr. and Kyle Lowry is their guy. A few NBA executives believe the Grizzlies aren't sure, themselves, if either has the potential to be a full-time starter.

The situation to keep an eye on, however, could be in Golden State, where 22-year-old restricted free agent Monta Ellis is expected to demand a hefty pay raise over his $770,610 salary from this past season and it could force the Warriors into considering sign-and-trade offers for the lightning quick combo guard.
How nice would it be if we could acquire Ellis? WOW .... for us do you think its even feasible to acquire him? Or do we not have the pieces that it would take to interest GS?

That's a toughie. There's no way the Knicks give up the #6 pick for Ford - not unless we include an expiring contract and we pick up a bad contract(s).

How about Rasho + Ford for Jeffries, Richardson and the 6 pick?

I have nothing against Euros so before some think otherwise, but do we really risk another high pick if we somehow inherit that #6 selection? I haven't seen this kid play outside of clips courtesy of You Tube, but he seems to be another big man who's going to take years to develop. As a fan, I don't have the patience anymore.

Gallinari is a tough dude. He's got good skill set, and he'll be a solid player in the league for years, but his athleticism is a notch below other guys, but he's still a very good player. I think this is guy Colangelo wants. If he's not gone by 11 at Indiana or 12 Sacramento, I would expect Colangelo to work the phones feverishly to move up and get Gallinari by using a combination of one of the PGs, an expiring and perhaps our own selection at 17 for the other team's selection and a bad contract.

Disagree. Mayo is a competitor. I think he can be like the next Chauncey Billups.

As for the trades - that's great to hear Ford's being shopped. If we can somehow get Ellis, I'd be ecstatic!!!

Gordon's a competitor too. He was a winner at UConn, he won rookie of the year - and he made numerous clutch shots throughout his career so far.
Mayo has too much Stephon Marbury in him than Chauncey Billups.

OJ seems more discplined that fagbury....i think he will be a good 2nd option for a low seed team and will be a good roleplayer for a developed team

Why you gotta rip on Marbury like that? He's a good cat, you know. You may hate his game, but his off the court work within the community is fantastic.

Mayo isn't that disciplined? This is the same dude that was involved in several fights with teammates throughout HS and was rumoured to be in another one when he was at USC. I'm not saying that he isn't a good player, but he'll be a bigger lockerroom cancer than Marbury and whoever selects him should be very cautious.
