Didn't jack take the starting role away from him his first season there? This won't happen.

That would be TJ Ford.

Last year was Watson's first year in Indy. Prior to that he was with the Thunder.

I don't see why we would make this trade. He's not an upgrade from Jose or JJ. I don't know how good his quickness is though.

He has some quickness and can play up tempo which is what we want. The only issue I want to know about is how is his defense? Not sure, since I haven't seen enough of him.

Defense is his calling card.

Yea, he can play way better defense than Calderon. I hope we can pick him up for giving up Calderon, the last player who came before BC.

I am not certain I'd like this. Even if Calderon is gone, neither Jack nor Watson are starting caliber point guards. Having Barbosa in the wings and even Banks, potentially, for another year, I don't see the need for this move. Hopefully, it won't happen.

Just another middle of the road move ... won't make a difference either way.
Caldy will need to be moved for this to happen and it's been very quiet on the Caldy front.

If his defense is that good, then that's why. No brainer if you can get him and get rid of Jose.

Jack/Watson/Barbosa
DD/Barbosa/Beli
Kleiza/Weems/DD
Bargs/Amir/Davis
TPE?/Anderson/Dorsey

Not bad at all, especially if we can get a not so flashy defensive Center which don't exactly grow on trees.

Watson has been a solid player for a long while. And yes, defense is what he's known for.

If we can deal Jose and pick him up it would be a solid move IMO.

I haven't read any of the details ... how does Caldy get in the picture on this potential move?

I agree. A defensive minded PG with some quickness would be welcomed for sure. Him off the bench with Barbosa/Weems/Davis/Amir would be pretty good imo.

he's been in the league ten years, jeff. if you haven't seen enough of him, how do you determine he can play up tempo but not defence?

He reminds me of Marcus Banks... quick and a good defender, but not a great play maker.

Then why do we need him if we already have Banks?

& Honestly he shoots like 42%FG & 28%3's I don't mind if we swap him for Banks?

Still a lateral move IMO

Trade a PG first. Then talk about Watson.
