Raptors Ford: Raptors finding out Bargs value isn't very high

Peter (Seattle)

Does Andrea have any trade value? He was playing decent last year before injuries, but he just never got it rolling this year. It seems a few teams could use a floor spacing center.

Chad Ford (1:15 PM)

The answer must be no because the Raptors have been very active in trying to move him and, so far, haven't had any luck. His contract plus his poor rebounding and defensive numbers are hurting him.

Well the offers have also been pretty crappy.

Keep him, hope he finishes the year strong and look for a trading partner in the summa.

timing is everything, everybody is trade-able. He may even be a piece we can move forward with, but he definitely needs some coaching or mentorship, which has been lacking here. We need some legit leadership like what Gay has seemingly brought so far.

dude, most players do.... it's not a sad statement, it's the same reason teams have been chasing Garnett so hard for years. Sad is that you don't get it. We've lacked leadership and veteran tutelage here and it shows, not just in AB"s game, but in many. It's why Jose was kept so long here.

He's nearly 28yrs old and it's sad that we need someone here to mentor or motivate him at this point. Sorry but it is.

Doubt it. In what way has ZBO ever been a dud? Please, elaborate. Yes, he has had some "issues" but his on court production has never been called into question.

carp, you're literally displaying sociopathic tendencies when it comes to Bargs. It's never his fault according to you. You'll do and say anything to defend him. Just admit you were wrong and move on. Nobody cares about whether you win or lose arguements on the friggin internet. It's embarrassing to see the same rehashed crap being said when it flies in the face of reality.

that's not true... I've admitted much is his fault, I'm just saying the excessive bashing is disturbing. Why so much hate for a guy? It's fucked up. Seriously.

It's embarrassing and I feel bad for you guys. There's never been a more unlikable Raptor than Bargs.

It's astonishing he still has fans with the way he's played. He has zero redeemable qualities to a winning NBA franchise. He's even hurting us now by getting PT over Jonas in key situations like Anderson is screwing with Ross' development.

bargs as a mentor to coach our youth???
hahahahahaha, that is a joke right?

the guy doesnt talk during games, why on earth do you think he talks during practice?
and why was Garnett's name brought up? KG has more passion in his pinky than Bargs does in his entire body. IMO, you need passion and desire to be a good mentor/coach... Bargs has none.

He had the basketball instincts of a 10 year old when he was drafted, and with the best efforts and the efforts of numerous coaches he's improved quite a bit. But not nearly enough - he's still a highly skilled but horrible basketball player.

He did play good defense for the first 4 minutes on the court last night. I wish Casey would use him a little more sparingly off the bench. Like a 4th big - I could live with Bargnani in that role.

How sad is it that Ed is fighting for minutes in MEM... a kid who's ALL effort... while Bargs has been force-fed minutes here for years.... a guy who just doesn't give a shit.

Sad? The guy is playing professional ball, feel sad for someone who deserves it.. also he'll be playing in the playoffs

Bargs has his many faults and he deserves the criticism he has got, but it's really overboard on here. To be expected though, every sports team forum needs its whipping boy
