Heat Ford for Haslem?

Really, Haslem? I'm hoping we can do bettter than that. I'm hoping on the latter suggestion that BC might be open to a blockbuster in order to acquire that #2 pick from Miami.

And with the way general manager Bryan Colangelo likes to think, there's even a likelihood he'll ask about the availability of the No.2 pick in some kind of blockbuster trade.

Considering TJ's health and attitude that's a decent deal.

And I like Haslem.

He's a solid defender and rebounder.

its so funny that the 'miami heat and toronto raptor trade' is almost a guarantee this summer.
they need a PG, we have one too many.

all the scenerios will come into play.

I'd like to know where Haslem's going to play, do we move him or CB to centre, because this dude's salary is a bit much for someone to come off the bench. We need a banger, thats for sure. But we'd be giving up a pretty good guard. Where would this deal leave Bargs?

my thoughts exactly!
i wanna trade ford, but not for a bench PF.
he's a good player and all, but the last thing we need is another PF.
bosh wont play C, Bargs is terrible at C... i know we need a rebounding presence, but i'd rather us get that via a C rather than another PF, especially when that PF is fighting CB and even Bargs for minutes.

I think beggers can't be choosers. If TJ is indeed the PG to be moved I don't think were looking at a huge return, so we should take what we can get, especially if it makes the team tougher.

Salary isn't a concern to me. We're already paying 6 million a season for Kapono and 8 million a year to have Rasho on the bench...

Right now, as much as I love Jose I really don't care who is dealt. I can live with Ford here in Toronot and think he still has room to improve. Just as much as Jose. Whomever can catch us the "bigger fish" I don't care. Just as long as this team improves ten fold this summer.

co-signed.
i love jose, but if he can get us "that guy" in a big trade, i'm all for it.
Ford has his flaws, but they were magnified because of the battle he had for minutes.
if he has the reigns to this team; he wont do half of the wrong things he did last season.

Haslem is one of the better low post defenders in the NBA and a very solid rebounder as well. He'd be a great bigman off the bench for us, and thatd be getting rid of our 2nd biggest need which is a good defending/rebounding big.

The problem with this trade is then we have no chance to get the scoring wing with one of our PG's gone since BC doesnt seem to be willing to trade Bargs.

I'd probably do Ford for Haslem. As thriller points out, he's a very good defender and rebounder. 12 points 9 boards a game from him last year - solid roleplayer numbers, and great on the glass.

Or if we really wanted to get interesting, how about Ford + Bosh for Haslem + #2 pick? If we could get haslem and Rose, I'd wet myself.

scoring would come by trading rasho + some the other expiring contracts. If nothing works, we'll have decent cap space next summer to make something work. It's not the best trade, but it's not that bad either.

you want to trade Ford, then use the 2 pick on another PG?
yikes....would we not re-sign Jose?
that would be a terrible play for us.

Haslem is about the sort of return we should expect for TJ. Anyone thinking we're getting an all-star back is dreaming.

I'd do it.

I dunno, I don't think TJ's contract is as big of a deal as it is being made out to be. Teams will pay for a point guard who can effectively run the show (enter comment here regarding TJ's ability to do this on a consistent basis). I think they would be far more concerned about his health. Either way, I still think teams will find him to be an attractive option.

I don't care about attitude I just care about skill. But I still don't like Haslem too much.
