Ford was great lastnight

Unfortunately, though, he forced the issue when he helped the team comeback and get the 96-95 lead. After that he made it a 1-man or 2-man team.

Ford is good as an offensive kick. But he shouldn't be used as PG to control the flow of the game. Ford just doesn't pass, and when he does it's more like ... "see! I pass to my teammates, too" kind of pass, and not a smart game pass. Calderon is better and smarter at that. Calderon makes the team game flow more easily.

It's always better to win as a team coz that's what it takes to go deep into the playoffs. And I'd rather lose knowing every player in the team had a chance to try and contribute, than have 1 or 2 players force the issue.

I'm beginning to think Mitchell isn't the coach to get the Raps through the playoffs. He might be good enough to get us there, but not much further.

However, the Raps have to rebound harder and drive more. Kapono needs to make his jump shots. Rasho needs to continue to make the defense honest by making his midrange shot. The bench need to step up consistently. And Moon needs to drive and cut more - he's taking far too many jump shots.

Go Raps!!

i agree with you fho.

I think we are seeing some major big issues with this team on offense right now. and as much as i like Sam as a coach and as a person, he really has not done anything to back up his "coach of the year" title of last year.

I know it sucks that Bosh is out, but there is really no semblance of any organization or tact in the team's offense. Players aren't on the same page, we're scrambling or we're stagnant.

I can't blame Ford. He has been playing fairly well of late - as well as he can at least. The problem is that other players just aren't on the same page. and that's pretty inexcusable from a coaching standpoint.

and that's on offense! don't even get me started on team defense!

Yeah, it seems the coach doesn't know what to do without Bosh.

Coach should let Calderon close out all the games - win or lose - so that he can gain experience from his mistakes. Calderon has the smarts of a true PG. Sam needs to develop that, and giving him the experience is the only way. Playing Ford as PG and having him on the 4th for too long - at his current state of mind - isn't going to help the team for the future.

We understand that the Raps won't win the championship this year, we hope to get further (if we make it), but at least develop the team, properly, so in 1-2 years we make the conference finals and maybe 2-3 years we make NBA finals.

You're right we don't have much of a defence either. Only Parker and Moon (some nights) have been doing okay. But as a team we're not very good.

I think running offense through Rasho in the post was a pretty clever move by Sam and his staff. However Rasho was useless against Golden State last night.

Players do tend to struggle when they don't get touches.

Or they can't jump more than two inches off the ground.

Good post, fho. Nice to hear some solid observations!

He was good until he hit the 96-95 point, then he had about 3 Me-J possesions in a row including the dumb 3, and Golden State scored on the return each time, and from there they never looked back.

I definitley agree that Calderon should be playing in the 4th.

However, my main problem with TJ is, I just don't like the idea of a selfish point guard. Over the past 2 years we've thrived on team play and chemistry, and TJ is just killing it right now. Our record with Me J in the fourth is horribly horribly bad, see Benzo's post in the other thread for the exact numbers. We've won maybe one game this year with him doing that, in Atlanta... I don't know if we've ever won a Me J game where the score was close and he was trading baskets with the other team. Certainly not this year.
