Ford: Five Deals That Should Happen

chris bosh for Andris Biedrins, Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf, Marco Belinelli and a future No. 1 pick

i wish that would happen...

Windex 02-17-2009 06:05 AM

GS have a lot of salaries committed in the future so they need to relive themselves of some long term contracts

Even though Biedrins has a long contract I'll take it b/c it's $9 mil every year and it doesn't increase, plus he's 22.

All these guys have long term contracts but Randolph and Belinelli have team options in 2010 and will never make more than $4 mil in their current contracts.

Turiaf will provide great strength behind Bargs at PF

If the pick is not lottery protected, 2 lottery picks this year. :dancing:

Calderon/Ukic/Solomon
Parker/Kapono/Belinelli
Matrix/Graham/Randolph
Bargs/Turiaf/Hump
Biedrins/Voshkul/Jawai

won't the Raps have to release/or trade 2 players after this trade
and
Who would be the Warriors center?

Get ready for the Latvian-Italian connection

Who is our leader then? We'd be a team with a bunch of young talented guys but no true locker room leader. Our coach isn't exactly a worldbeater at the motivational stuff...We'd be the bulls basically.

No thanks.

Belsius 02-17-2009 08:12 AM

That trade is insanely good for us, No way it could happend.

Who's the leader now?

The PG is usually the leader anyway.

Don't worry the Spurs assistant will be the coach next year.

Uh... Bosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where you been? Who gets on the young players when they dont' give the effort(i.e. Bargani, Moon)? Who's the guy that BC goes to when thinking about player moves? Who's the one guy on the team that despite struggling at times this year actually drives plays the in and out game the way the coaches want? He is the leader..he leads by example and he gets in your face if you're slacking. Teams need to have a leader on the floor otherwise they just run around with no unity...like the Bulls do for example.

If we trade Bosh..we need someone to step in and play that role. ONeal could have been that guy...i dont' see anyone on the roster currently who could, nor in that trade proposed.

If this trade were proposed to Colangelo, he takes it and run. That's a SHITLOAD of talent. You get a centre who doesn't demand the ball, but is a rebounding machine and a good defender, a SF of the future in Randolph, our starting 2-guard next season in Belinelli, an engery bigman off the bench in Turiaf plus a 1st? I'm salivating.

Yes, turn down a deal that gets you a swath of young TALENTED players for your one talented player who lacks as a leader, because they aren't sending you Steve Nash leadership?

Go fish.

Dr. J. Naismith 02-17-2009 09:53 AM

We would be absolutely insane not to make that deal. Also taking into consideration on how often injured Bosh has been over these last 3 seasons too. I'd be all over it. :)

i'd do that deal in a heartbeat if not sooner.

Do you know who the "man" is in the room?

It ain't Bosh.

It's Graham.

go figure.

Parker's our leader and this has been reaffirmed on many occasions by Colangelo and the coaching staff. Bosh is just the face of the franchise.

I know i was just being an asshole...Benzo hasn't lived up to the hype of late so i figured i'd fill in. :dancing:

I'd do that deal if it was presented...which it won't be because it's not good for GS.

INSIDER 02-17-2009 10:01 AM

this trade would be FANTASIC!
and i think GState would just be crazy enough to do it too.
they are horrible and need to shake things up badly. they can imagine a future with Ellis and bosh and be happy about that.
we'd get one of the best (emerging) C's in the game today who will solve any rebounding issues we have and a LOAD of other young talent to keep us happy for years to come..... and then throw in a first round pick??? HELL YES!!!!!

whoever was saying Bosh was our 'leader' LOL. thats a joke.

Superjudge 02-17-2009 10:01 AM

I wasn't kidding Doc. I have heard that from a few people.

Apparently people like the guy.

hell, when hey played the Suns, Shaq walked past a couple of "stars" to hug Joey first.

he might be inconsistant on the floor, but he's socailly popular, and thats big in the room

hehehehe.

ok.

But ya, I agree with you, ain't gonna happen, Toronto hsn't had luck like that since Clify Fletcher fleeced Calgary.

Ugo Ferst 02-17-2009 10:29 AM

Whenever you trade an allstar and dont get one back in return, consider yourself chump changed.

That's called short-sighted thinking. You come from the Isiah Thomas school of thinking by where you if you don't get the best player in the deal, you wouldn't do it.

That deal for Bosh addresses so many needs. What are our woes right now? It's depth and rebounding for the most part. That deal addresses our concerns now and in the future. GSW might be dumb enough to do that deal, simply because they're looking at the "star factor" in Bosh.
