Ford to the Cavs?

No, its not a rumour per say, but someone writing in for an opinion on whether or not Ford would be available now considering how well Jose has stepped up. The columnist thinks that BC will likely keep both PG's and not deal either. :(

Aey, John: I don't believe T.J. will be traded because I'm sure the Raptors would love to keep two good point guards . . . but if they changed their minds, he'd be a great addition to the Cavs. I think the Raptors would want someone in return, like Shannon Brown and maybe a draft pick. But again, that's only speculation and I can't imagine the Raptors would give up on Ford.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
damnnnn there stupid.

Trading Ford id want some1 like IGgy in return.
not this unknown shannon brown kid.

INSIDER 01-20-2008 12:24 PM

ughhh i'm all for trading ford, but ONLY if we get some quality in return.

and that cavs proposal is absolute garbage.

Claudius 01-20-2008 12:26 PM

Brown will be a nice player but why would even think about dealing him in the first place? Secondly, if we WERE to deal him why a rival with the best player in the conference?

If anything, If we WERE to trade one of Ford or Calderon I'd see Phoenix coming in for an offer.

that's not even a proposal ... it's just some random words from a random nobody ...

Exactly, just as I stated in the original post. I just like hearing what other writers think of the PG situation here in Toronto. :)

Who the fuck is Shannon Brown?!

The only player useful to us in a trade with Cavs (except for Lebron) would be Varejao (for his toughness and rebounds). I don't know what would need to be included in a trade like that. And even then, it would make us small at center and provide less PT for Bargnani.

Sorry, I meant he's not worth a trade in any package for TJ. :)

Maybe Dixon?

Claudius 01-20-2008 01:38 PM

Brown has more talent than Dixon. Again, I'm semi-high on brown myself. He's not worth TJ but he's a very serviceable player and with the right coaching he could be a very good back-up PG.

Torontosaurus 01-20-2008 01:51 PM

I haven't seen his game. Has he played well? I heard he got sent to the D-League.

When he has gotten minutes he's produced. He's still raw though. He was just called back up.

Must be a slow news day to be quoting an idiot who doesnt know shit about the NBA. It'd take at least Gibson or Sideshow+a 1st to get TJ. Shannon Brown LOL. He's your typical tweener with an ego bigger than his game.

ClingRap 01-21-2008 02:01 AM

salaries dont match...

Acie 01-21-2008 09:58 AM

Salaries aside, there's no way anyone is going to take on the contract of a guy that at any given moment can miss two or three months.

True..i doubt his trade value right now is equal to his oncourt abilities.

I really don't see him shopping Ford either.. he seemed pretty high on the pg tandem concept...and since when is having something no other team in the league has a bad thing? :)

MangoKidHoops 01-22-2008 10:10 AM

I agree with Thriller. I only do that deal if Gibson is involved. Or Varejao and a #1.
Gibson is already a very good shooter, and play the 2 (plus step in and play the point from time to time). Varejao is a no-brainer. He brings interior toughness and rebounding.

Exactly what I was thinking. At least Gibson + Varejao, and maybe a pick depending on TJ's injury status.

lebron for bosh + tj :)
