Exclamation FIRE SAM!!!!!!

Wait a minute, we did that already and that didn't fix shit huh?

For more than three years a whole bunch of you guys been asking for Sam's head, and now you all got it.

And all these years, I've been saying the obvious, and I shall repeat, in the NBA, coaches are NOT as influential as one might believe.

If I was defending Roy, he would get smacked on the floor at least TWICE before he went supernova! You guard the fucker close, get in his face, overplay him, and if he blows by you, you smack him across the chest/arm area. Chances are you gonna hit him in the face, but no ref is gonna call that anything but a hard foul.

When Kobe dropped 81, everyone blamed Sam, PP went crazy, everyone blamed Sam, and now Roy, I say we blame Sam again.

AP is slow, Jamario is not a one-on-one defender and this team is soft. No coach can change that.

Outside JO, nobody else gives a shit about defense.

We definitely could use another hard core , slappin , ass kickin , stand up guy along side J.O. maybe Marbury isn't such a bad idea after all? Get rid off Bargniani and get Sir Charles out of retirement

I wrote a long post talking about how we have competed under Jay every night, and we're not getting blown out anymore, but then when I clicked "post quick reply" it erased my post, like it does about 50% of the time. This site fucking frustrates me. I have to copy and paste my post every time otherwise it will likely get deleted .

Don't know what to say bball, but considering length and the time it takes me to do my game threads that's never happened to me. Do you use Explorer?

The site is only fucked when theyre doing updates or whatever and it says page not accessible or whatever.

Sam is a fucking terrible coach who deserved to be fired. Jay is almost as bad but at least we're going to the big boys more often for scoring, the rest of the game seems to be the same unfortunately.

Coaching is a lot bigger than you make it out to be rasam. You bring in one of the top 3 coaches in the league and we're at least a .500 team imo.

If you look at a team like Orlando, if they didnt run the system they did and didnt have Van Gundy, I think most coaches would be starting Battie beside Howard and Orlando would be a pound it in team with a whole different identity and they wouldnt have near the record they have now.

Coaching is huge IMO.

Coaching is huge, but Colangelo needed to do 2 things.

1. Fire Mitchell. Mitchell had no clue how to run the offense and use JO properly
2. Get a much needed slasher, we're not the euro style team anymore (Garbo and Delfino are gone and now we have JO) We have a terrible mix of players. Joey Graham and Kapono are praised too much by people on here and the media, they are garbage. AP relies so much on his shot that he has become very predictable. SLAHSERRRRSSSS NEEEDDDED.

I love revisionist history.

Mitchell pounded the ball inside to O'Neal before he got hurt, same as they're doing now.

He was, but not as much and I dont think its off the same screens off the ball to get Oneal lower. I dont think its just Oneal himself trying to get deeper I think the playcalling is better. Most of his postups with Smitch were running down the floor catching it 18 feet out with no screen usage.

Rasam... we got torched by one of the best players in the NBA.... it happens. That doesn't make Triano a terrible coach. He's no going to be perfect every game.

Should we have trapped Roy or doubled him? YES! But overall I've been very happy with the way that we've been playing since he's taken over. People are talking about how we've only beaten "terrible teams"... lol.... based on our record WE'RE a terrible team!! WTH are people expecting? For us to beat the Spurs, Lakers and Celtics now?

The loss wasn't about Roy. He made incredible contested shots. Stars do that. JO did ythat yesterday.
Defense was decent. Offense sucked. Shats stopped falling and you can count attempts to go to the hoop in 2nd half with fingers on one hand.

Edit: on topic - still better than with Sam in every aspect

Perhaps, but I think O'Neal still catches the ball out pretty far. The difference is he didn't seem quite as mobile early on, so we weren't treated to as many pretty spin moves (basically all he did was back guys down) and the turn around fadeaways weren't falling like they are now.

The difference was, the front line of Portland isnt horrible or depleted like Kings and Clips, and we got what we should expect.

So bring in one of the top three coaches and we're at least .500? Funny - but that wasn't good enough for Sam to keep his job. I'm really not seeing where we are competing against anything but bottom feeders post-Sam. Not that I haven't seen some good things, but overall there just doesn't seem to be the same impact coming from a number of important players, most notably, Bosh and Bargnani. I like the attention to detail that has come with the new coach, but it only really make the team look like they are the special designer jean version of the same dungarees.

You see the problem there TOR, Vince did it, PP did it, Roy did it, Kobe did it...everyone does it...and before everyone got on Sam, and now nobody is getting on Jay.

I see tons of good with Jay, lots and lots, we play better team D, but the PLAYERS need to man up man...

I don't play dirty, never have and never will...Sauce and them know, but YOU CANT score 4,5,6 times on me without feeling some pain.

Ill play more physical, ill get in your face, talk shit, ill do something....we let Roy kill us, and then REST instead of making him play D...he rested, and scored...rest and score...

run plays for AP, post ups, or for jamario, make it a 1-1 game, we needed stops more than points....

They DID double and trap Roy.

He got out of it and the kid elevates on a dime, and has a high release on what looks like the most perfect Jumper I have ever seen. He's good.

Toronto lost that game because of what they were doing on the opther end, and because the guards didn't help on the glass.

They lost, as SJ suggests, because of a third quarter output of 10 points. Nobody can win games doing that. For Triano to suggest that they just got beat by a better team is BS. How does your team look that pathetic in the third quarter Jay? And how did they manage not to bury the Blazers in the first half in spite of playing nearly flawless. That was a wasted opportunity no? They gave the Blazers a freebie W with that total ineptness, after failing to stretch out a lead, and yes - Roy was smart enough to know that he had to capitalize on the situation.
