Josh Smith was 0-7 last night playing 20 minutes coming off the bench last night. Him and Rudy on the same team would be worse than having Bargnani.

Rudy did make some huge plays, and there's no doubt he allows some room for other guys to operate, thus making it easier for young talent to develop. So I can live with him at the moment. And I have to hope he can get better, and just keep his head in games all the way through.

He's doing a lot of things well, and his shot and to some extent shot selection - this is improving - is his one clear issue. He's been moving the ball better, gets a lot of rebounds, steals, blocks, and is improving in the distributing area. He's the best we have period, so i'm happy to live with him until there are better options. Tanking for a top 3 pick isn't really one of them at this point.

Novak has also been brought back into the rotation and contributing what we sorely needed, some outside shooting. Whereas, Landry is horrid in that area. Ross has been a bit more consistent too, so he's on the outside looking in. I did like all the things Fields did when he got changes to play, but he really needs to be able to make shots consistently to be a regular part of the rotation.

I think its over looked with all his offensive issues

what rudy does is far more effective than derozan, rudy plays both ends of the floor where demar kind of floats around on defense, rarely has a defensive play

if you ask me trading demar seems like the better move at this point, especially with ross sitting right there to take his place

if Detroit was ever down demar for josh smith
No way for Josh Smith. Bigger ego than DeRozan.

Yep - i think it really goes beyond being able to make shots. He needs to be able to just shoot. Seeing him turn down shots is worse than seeing some ugly shots that might result. They want to get guys passing freely, so the last thing they need is for guys to wonder if the open guy on the perimeter is going to finish the play or if they should take it upon themselves to get something done.

There were some ugly turnovers, his ballhandling was atrocious. But from an attitude standpoint this was a whole other Rudy than in previous games if you ask me.

I didn't even have to facepalm once, which is quite the accomplishment for Gay.
We have different standards. He has made me facepalm at least thrice.

Look, Lowry is trying like hell to play the right way. Everyone here knows, I always preferred Calderon to him, but Kyle is really, really trying to become a better floor leader. I'd like him to improve on-the-ball defense quite a bit, but offensively he is undoubtedly moving in the right direction. Rudy and DeMar, on the other hand, are still in their primary "me against all of them" mode, and a lot of times it looks like "them" include all of their teammates as well as their opponents. At least DeMar is doing this pseudo-hero act while trying to get fouled, but it's stupid anyway. Gay and DeRozan must be taught about passing out of the double-team and to never, ever, attack more than one defender.
