im watching Kyle's post game interview

he said its "nothing serious. just some soreness"..."minor soreness. no excuses i'll play not game"

50 points in the paint, and 6 turnovers. That's some nice numbers to go with the defense.

And all that with so many missed around the rim.

4th in the whole league in Pts against... Top 10 in the league in road wins.

2 more things that bode well for the rest of the season.

God I love this team. May not always win, but for the first time in YEARS there's no quit in them. :)

Thank Dwane Casey.

I think we have to TBH.

Everyone (myself included) has been very critical of him but it looks like all he was lacking was some bench depth on the roster.

Oh please, if Casey was such a good coach, why wasn't he able to get anything out of Rudy? I don't want to go into the countless other examples of his coaching ineptitude, but lets not let 3/4 of this season cloud judgement on his coaching over the overall picture. We can do better, and I have no doubt Masai will let his contract run out and take a run at Hollins in the offseason.

In terms of this game, everyone played their roles well outside of Lowry, and it was a good team win. JV carried us in the 1st and 3rd, and DD brought us home in the 4th.

I'm not liking how Amir is moving on the court. He was a bit better in the 4th but his quickness isn't there right now. He isn't able to help and then close out effectively like he normally does, Marvin Williams ate him up on screen/pops.

JV was a man in the paint today. It's too bad that Casey went with his regular rotations, as I think we would have had an easier going away wictory if he kept JV in longer in the 1st quarter when he was rolling. JV looks like he's really starting to get what he has to do vs specific matchups, whether it was backing down Kanter and going to the hook shot over the left shoulder, or fade over the right, or facing up and using quickness to beat Gobert.

Get JV the rock!

Seems pretty clear that Rudy did whatever he wanted when he was here... and again... back then we didn't have the depth that we do now.

I'm not saying that he should automatically be extended... you have to give him some credit for what's happened post-trade. The players aren't just coaching themselves out there.

Thank you for proving my point.

I've given credit to Casey for this teams run since the trade, but I'm still not anywhere near convinced that he's a good coach, or the right coach for this team moving forward.

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 02-04-2014 01:37 AM

DD had a hell of a lot better shooting night and didn't take an insane amount of shots.

LX 02-04-2014 06:53 AM

Yes, we need to get Hollins, because he got so much out of Rudy Gay.

Carlito 02-04-2014 06:58 AM

Lets forget about Coaching changes for now ... I'm not saying Casey is a great strategist, but the guys play hard for him ... that's an excellent attribute as a Coach.

I'll let :mu:worry about Casey extension, etc

That's what I am saying.. why move a coach the players respect and play hard for. We haven't even won anything yet and people are saying hes not the rite coach moving forward. I can understand if we're in the playoffs and he makes bone head decisions then that's a different story, but you can tell hes coaching out there

Some coaches do better with a bunch of journeymen players and getting more out of them. Some are better at getting elite players to preform together as a unit.

Obvious which one Casey is. Not sure if he can make the jump if the Raps become an elite team with Superstars.

well seeing as that's not likely to happen, sounds like we have the right man for the job.

i missed this game.
Did Lowry not play at all? Dive he leave the game?

He left early when his knee started acting up.
