Raptors will come out firing. Totally lose interest in the second quarter but pull out the victory in the second half.

Look for JO to have a bounce back game and be very strong defensively and good offensively. 3blks, 14pts, 10rb.

Both Bosh and Jose will dominate offensively and Parker will play solid D on JJ.

Moon and Kapono will look like absolute shit, with Moon being better on offense and Kaps better on Defense.

Raps win 92-88

I think the raps will turn it around and win this one. I say we'll take this one 97-92

JO can dominate this game, horford is not nearly strong enough to defend him. And Josh Smith will be busy chasing Bosh on the perimeter. Their backcourt is strong though, so Parker will have to be very careful. And Jose will eat bibby alive

I think the Raptors will dictate this game from the start.

Atlanta will make 2-3 solid runs to bring it really close but Bosh and Parker will be consistent as fuck. It's about time JO had a big 20/10 game...the guy can do it he just needs to get into his flow offensively. All those 8 foot turnaround fadaways should be falling for him, him and CB will be too much for their frontcourt.

I expect Calderon to handle Bibby's shit.

X-Factor = Andrea Bargnani: 18 points, 7 rebs, 3 blks

Think Parker will rebound, he usually does after a bad game

I think the Raps will lose. The Hawks are playing really great. Plus they have home court, They just came of a win over New Orleans. Although the Raps lose it will be by a small margin

Atlanta Hawks are looking strong this season, and its going to be another tough test for us.

I can't predict which way it will go, but we can win it if we play 4 quarters!

I still have faith in the Raptors to pull it out - 2 good games by Atlanta is not enough to change my mind about how terrible they played the last couple of years

Toronto vs Atlanta - ESPN head to head statistical comparison.

The Raptors have the most offensive rebounds allowed in the NBA and the Hawks have the second most offensive boards grabbed. This could be a huge problem.

A good strategy against the Hawks would seem to be to foul them a lot and to let them try and shoot their way to victory (especially from long range). Their FT% and 3P% are really bad.

Dear Smitch,

Bargnani is a good basketball player, but he doesn't match up well against everyone.

Usually when he doesn't match up well against someone you can put a guy called Kris Humphries in the game.

Part of the reason Bargs looks bad out there is that you put him in situations where he can't succeed.

Every now and then everyone needs a little Hump.

Thank You.

very tought test tonight.

It will be interesting to see how Jermaine comes out tonight. He's been the focal point of the media for the past couple of days and much is being made of his offesnive struggles. Personally, i think it's a little blown out of proportion... Hopefully it won't get inot his head.

Jamario better have a much better game than the last one where he was way too passive.

We should pull this one out, but it's making me nervous none the less.

atlanta... undefeated eh?
this is going to be a HUGE matchup for us tonight.
atlanta matches up against us well.
CB will have tough time with Smith because he's just as athletic and fast.
CB will really need to have his jump shot hitting tonight.

the only way we pull out a victory is with D.
atlanta's main weakness is the shooting %.
if we can take advantage of an off shooting night by smith and JJ, we should win.
D will win us this game tonight, nothing else.

Insider.

I agree with you, however, being agressive on ofense is the key to beatng these guys. You need to get Smith in foul trouble, further to that, Williams and Horford absolutely cannot be forgotton. These guys are coming into thier own, and are the main reason this team rose last year, and continue to this year. Too often people look at Smith and Joe Johnson, but as good as they are, there is a hell of a lot of talent laying in the weeds on this team. WAY more.

I'm guessing you haven't seen a lot of Raptors' games lately ... Bargnani has looked pretty good this season, he's leading the team in blocks and FG%(I think), and he's efficiency is almost doubled compared to last season. If anything, he needs more minutes, not fewer. Humphries first action of the season, against Detroit, he gets in the ball at the FT line and starts dribbling in traffic going at the hoop ... Luckily for us, he managed to score - but I'm pretty sure that wasn't what Sam had in mind.

Bargs got ripped by Teyshaun last game!

Didn't he have two 20 minute 0 point games already?

He still looks pretty clueless to me. For a 7 foot centre his rebounding is still awful. He's not the worst starting player in the NBA anymore, but that's mostly because he doesn't start anymore!

Kris Humphries was one of the team leaders in rebounding rate last year (a fraction behind Bosh). He definitely doesn't get enough PT. Hollinger did a Raptors analysis where he concluded that they would have won 5-7 more games last year if Smitch would have given Bargs minutes to Humphries + Rasho. Sure, Hump should NEVER be allowed to shoot the ball. But the same thing applied to Ben Wallace when he was tearing it up in Detroit.

Whatever. I know that Bargs' development is important to the franchise, but Hump has earned himself better than what he's been given. Objectively, looking at the results from last year, Hump should be the first big off the bench. That's just a fact.

The difference is Wallace knows NOT to shoot, Hump doesnt. And as far as him being a leader in rebounding, he was playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

And on top of that what business does Bargs have guarding Prince in the first place-None.

Failed switches from Kapono, Joey and Moon forced Bargs into Guarding Prince on the perimeter.
