luckily for us, boozer is out.
and Okur has been playing horrible over his last 2 games.

our problem is going to be Millsap. we've got to get him into foul trouble early.

Don't forget Brewer either. The kid's been stepping it up as of late too. Deron's slow to return from his injury, but he'll cause Jose fits tomorrow night too. They may be injured the Jazz, but these guys can't be taken lightly.

deron's been pretty much cold on his own offense, and (other than last night) he's been getting alot of assists.

i think this is a good matchup for jose.
deron wont be looking to score or attack as he's been in the past, since he's still not 100%.

As much as I want to be positive, we just won't pull this one out. Jazz are basically flawless at home. First game under Triano won't be smooth considering the amount of time we've had to practice.
Boozer is out, but they do have 2 capable bigs in Okur and Millsap who will get after the boards.

they lost to miami at home. Sadly, I reaaaally doubt Utah is going to lose two in a row. Specially against us.

Bargs shouldnt start, unless he is playing Center.

Brewers defense and speed will render Bargs useless as a SF, put Joey in and let him bring the pain

I think the Raptors can take a victory here.

They're seriously undermanned with Boozer and AK injured. JO and Bosh should abuse their front court they don't really have anything or anyone to throw at them. Deron will probably have to shoulder the load for the Jazz but again he's slowly coming back from an injury so I don't assume we'll see him at full strength. Expect a win in JT's first game as the head coach of this team.

you are vastly underestimating Millsap.
he'll put his big body on Bosh, and will gobble up any rebounds in his vacinity.
bosh will really need to be hitting his jumpers, otherwise we're screwed. he has no chance dominating Millsap on the block.

Force Millsap to guard Bargs though and Millsap will be way out of his comfort zone.

Same old, same old. Bosh has a tendency to "disappear" in these games. Has all the ingredients for another Bosh no-show. National coverage (US), facing an excellent team at home albeit it is without Booz and AK47. I also don't get why people think that JO is a good offensive player. Decent, sure but definitely not good enough to cause serious damage. I'm predicting another night of JO continually taking 15 foot fadaways and Bosh simply disappearing. Prepare to get hugely disappointed guys.

I think this one can be a win but only if the Raps can shut down Brewer and Milsap and hopefully won't go of.

Before JO went down against NJ he was KILLING people on the block. He's got some sweet post-moves. He's prob. still not back at 100% yet so I wouldn't expect TOO much against UTH... but down the road? He definietly has the ability to be a force for us down low.

I'm really looking forward to this game.... more than the season opener in fact!

I honestly think we have been watching different games. I've seldom seen JO in the post actually drive. Whenever JO gets the ball, I expect a 15-18 foot brick. Like you said, he isn't at 100% and JO knows it too. More importantly, his legs are not 100% and as we all know, the legs are the anchor in a basketball shot. So instead of JO trying to get his, he should just stick to the basics on offense and provide us with that solid defense.

as you guys already said boozer and ak are out, but they're still a good team and they're at home. i think it'll be tough and if sam was still the coach, i would say we'd lose this. BUT because of what happened... not even because triano is a better coach or anything. it's just that when things like this happen, the team USUALLY put an extra effort onto everything. so the Raptors will be working extra hard because of a change and will win... hopefully. lol.

if we lose vs utah without boozer, ak and a less than 100% deron, then they should definitely fire mitchell ...
