In terms of how the teams are playing right now and how tought they'd be in the playoffs, I think the Bulls are the second best team. Brooklyn is probably the third best team, if healthy. Then the Raps and the dysfunctional Pacers.

Must win, no way we lose.. If chicago loses one and we win out who would get that tie breaker?

yep especially now that Atlanta clinched the 8th spot New York really has nothing to play for the rest of the season.

the only hope is chicago wanting to avoid miami in a potential second round, but on the face of it, they don't want to play the positiong game. Plus, it would be risky, because the way Indiana is playing right now, you can't assume they will their last 2 games ...

Even if noah is so against losing on purpose, his coach may be more pragmatic though, and their last game of the season may be interesting. TT may even choose to rest his starters the last two games, given that charlotte is not a great matchup for them as noah's weakest point (as much as he has weak points) is post defense.

Do they actually? :jack:

Andrea didn't get hurt soon enough for the Knicks. New York was 19-18 without him this season, and 15-27 with him in the lineup. :police:

Man, there are alot of hungry teams in the east in this playoff. Every team thinks that he can do some noise, and that is going to make the playoff unpredictable.

Another 5 year rebuild. Just what Piston fans were hoping for. Does anybody want Josh Smith?

Toby 04-13-2014 05:04 AM

There has to be a team that will do a 3 for 1 deal with Detroit. Josh Smith IS a franchise player.

We can not lose this game if we want to have any chance of possibly passing the Bulls. Prediction is Raps win 105-89.

According to NBA.com, after head-to-head record, the next tiebreak criteria is division record. Miami and Indiana split 2-2 against each other. If Miami beats Washington, they finish with a better division record and win the tiebreak. Miami then plays Philly, and winning that game is basically a choice of whether they rest players or not. I suspect Miami waits to see what happens in the Indiana/OKC game.

Miami's last game is against Philly, so if they lose to Washington, the Heat could still get another win if they try. And with Indiana playing OKC at home, and then Orlando on the road, I have a feeling Indy will split. But, if Miami has lost to Washington, Indy holds the tiebreaker because it moves to conference record, and Indiana has done better against the East.

TL;DR:

Miami beats Washington = Miami owns tiebreak
Miami loses = Indy owns tiebreak

And, that Miami/Washington game will likely decide if each team bothers to try during the last game.

Division record is tie-breaker only for teams in same division. For IND- MIA its the conference record that will decide in tie as both are division winners and they were tied against each other. So basically MIA needs to win one more game than IND to win the division with both having two left. Either way the Washington is must win for MIA to get that seed. But right now Im rooting for WAS as in the unlikely scenario that we beat BKN in first round, our match-up with Indiana would offer atleast some interest. Against MIA it would only be interesting to see if we can steal one win.

And for us, it doesnt matter what the result is in last six games, but we need to get our shit together. Our defense has been so bad for this whole month. There hasnt really been consecutive good defensive effort games in two months. It would be really nice to see us blow out one or two of these last games, not because we can score at will, but because we keep the opponent from scoring.
