Ridiculous to say the least.
Someone would be coming off the bench.

And if Ross can improve.... you bet your ass that Drummond can too. Let's not forget that he's had stretches this season where he's just DOMINATED teams.
Drummond will never shoot well. Ever. He is a great rebounder and defender and that will improve but he will not improve in too many other areas. He will get his 55-60% in the paint and that's all. Never back out and shoot, never develop a great hook and never shoot FTs. AD is better today but I see his max much lower. just an opinion... and i would not have thought it last year one bit.

I think this summer was a good indicator of how much demand there is for jennings out there. Not even his own team wanted to pay him and only detroit who had an even worse PG was willing to swap. I think knight is a better player than jennings actually, just that he's not a PG. In that sense, probably brandon is a better fit in Detroit. They probably have to fire the coach, because smith is pouting and good luck unloading smith. Doubt any coach can get that 3 bigs lineup to work, but who knows.

why, is there a law that prevents him from improving? So far, the word is that he's actually a pretty hard worker and he's only 19. Do you remember Amir Johnson when he was 19?

Not a chance but just that some people said they would never upgrad ebecause they had jennings and jennings was too good.

This is Drummond's 2nd season and he just turned 20 a few months ago.

Making absolute statements about his game is just ridiculous at this point.

A lot of things get said here that are out of left field.

FA's don't always sign for the most money, but usually for where they really want to be playing. Any player that would sign based on the most money is probably not a player that will really improve a team.

Drummond has a shit load of potential...he just needs to not jump on every pump fake and use his body in post defense better cuz JV was killing him.

That said I'm not gonna sweat if he becomes a superstar, star, or just a really good role player...Nothing that could be done about not drafting him so why sweat it.

Lowry has really not got paid yet in the league. His contracts have been "small" so far. I think money will be a big factor for him.

Yup. And didn't Ben Gordon reject Chicago in favour of Detroit because of a difference of like $1 million a year?

Exactly as I said, a player that signed because of the money probably won't improve the team. Thank's for confirming my point.

Why is there this constant obsession about Andre Drummond amongst Raptor fans?

I'll go on record and say I was probably his biggest detractor on this board in his draft year. I just remember his college tapes and he was mediocre at best. He couldn't handle conference play in the Big East and once teams figured out how to limit him he just took himself out of the game. I wonder now if it was because he knew we was going pro.

Anyways, the biggest change between last season and this season is the number of minutes he's played, but if you look at his Per 36 they're the same (essentially) as last season.

But, where my concern is with Drummond and always will be, is that he's still a really, really dumb player. I thought JV looked lost on D, when I watch Drummond and Monroe and Smith together my eyes want to bleed. It's all about the block with them. It's not about positioning. It's about using athleticism instead of the body. They're horrendous. They might've gotten better, but the games I've watched I had to turn off.

And while Drummond might get better in the skill areas of the game, I still have some major question marks about his overall IQ on the defensive side (where he can make the biggest impact, more so than anything on the offensive end).

100% agree. I've been harsh on Andre since before being drafted (and was cooked for it here) but all I've seen from Drummond is a suped version of Reggie Evans - similar strengths and the same weaknesses.

The way T-Ross is playing has made me very content of the pick - I wasn't sure if his game would translate to the NBA but he certainly is proving many wrong.

Tip the hat to BC on that one.
