Wizards FINAL: Toronto Raptors 108 Washington Wizards 111

Quote:
MARQUEE MATCHUP

John Wall vs. Jose Calderon

The Raptors scoring is down but the Wizards scoring is slowly eroding to just about nothing. Making Wall a jump shooter and slowing down the Washington tempo which begins with Wall will be up to Calderon or possibly Jerryd Bayless if Dwane Casey goes back to his small starting lineup with both point guards on the floor to start the game. Wall was held to 15 points but more importantly didn’t get really anyone else involved when the Raps took down the Wizards 106-89 on Friday in Toronto. Calderon was at his distributing best with 17 assists, four more than the entire Washington roster.

SCOUTING REPORT

The Wizards have lost four in a row giving up an average of 105 points and scoring an average of 90. Yes, they are in a funk. The four Washington wins have come against the Bobcats (2), the Raptors (1), and surprisingly the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team with the best record in the NBA. Andray Blatche is out with a strained left calf. That has opened a spot in the starting five for first-round pick Jan Vesely but Vesely got in foul trouble early in Toronto on Friday and was never a factor. JaVale McGee should be one of the more motivated Wizards Monday night. Friday against the Raps, Toronto simply owned the boards out-rebounding Washington at both ends of the floor and with a 23-9 advantage at Washington’s basket.

We need to lose this game badly. We cant continue to win every 4 games and expect a top 3 pick.

This isn't fair IMO

You should beat teams like the Wizards every time, regardless of whether you want to tank.

Do we really need a high pick? I don't wanna get a high pick and pick an Euro player as usual instead of a big prospect.

This draft is very Euro-lite.

The only euro mistake was RA. JV and AB have been solid picks.

people tend to pad the bullshit with "all euro players are soft" argument.

do you mean rafael araujo or aleksander radojevic?

araujo is brazilian and went to byu, so not a euro.

radojevic is euro and was a bad pick, but is not AR.

just curious.

The Wizards have the worst interior D possible.... They need to move Blatche and McGee and just start over. Trade them for everything you can get.

JV has still to show himself in the NBA context. I've trust in him, but it's better if we wait.

And mistake: Bargnani is soft.
