Demar did not play selfish basketball. He took one questionable 3. He moved the ball and made good decisions throughout.

I can only hope Rudy hits some kind of switch. Did he party the night before? Did he change bodies with Landry Fields? It just feels like this team will not turn the corner for real until they somehow ditch this dude. It's a bit of a knee-jerk reaction, but it's just so hard to stomach such a too cool for school approach we've seen from him.

And all the same, if they play defense like they need to, they absorb a shitty night from Rudy and still get the win. Gotta admit that it doesn't look good on Casey if there's many more games like this.

was a horrible game to watch! i can barely hold my tongue when chuckers have a good game!

oh and, lionel hollins is a MUCH better coach than casey........

The starting unit lacks a team leader ... DD is the closest thing and that's pretty sad.
The starting unit is a mess ... We play strong D when things are going well on the offense. Casey needs to make it clear to these boys that Defense is not an option.
It's a joke that JV is being completely forgotten on offense ... One thing that I don't like about JV this year is that he seems to be lacking the confidence to take an outside shot. His moves to the hole won't work unless he keeps them honest.

Get us a true team leader in the first unit ...

This. But I'm still hopeful that Gay will turn around his game, especially with a new coach. The other way around doesn't work really (getting rid of Gay will not change Casey in any way, we'll still have the typical lack of game plans, set plays, etc.)

agree with you, gay can be a lot better than this, obv, but even at his best, it's the wrong type of bball imho. inside-out, team ball, sharing the ball is the way to go. "iso ain't the way to go!"

just get rid of them both. I forgot about george karl! one of my favourite coaches! there's 2 excellent coaches out there and we've got casey!

Caught this game at a bar. I get the comments, and Rudy sucked, but the main problem was defense yet again. Was Atlanta's starting 5 all in double figures? Our defense was brutal at the end of the 2nd and the entire 3rd, way to many easy baskets, and it cost us the game.

Rudy shooting 6-22

Raptors shooting 57 FT%

^ That's why we lost. Yeah our defense wasn't good, but neither was there's. We shot 46 FG% and lost to a team that shot 46.8 FG%. We take care of business at the line and Rudy hits 2-3 more shots and we're 2-0.

We also only got to the line 14 times to their 31. We need to stop settling for 15-18 ft jumpers (sound familiar?). And fuck, Amir has to go back to playing inside. This summer 3 NEEDS TO GO!!

I wonder if Harrison Barnes would be available for the right price. I doubt it but looking at their roster you have to wonder how happy he'll be coming off the bench for 20mpg.

as a second year player on an exciting up and coming team, a lot happier than he would be here.

Barnes isn't going anywhere. Besides, it would cost us our pick....

Wonder if it has something to do with not working on the offense enough during training camp. Casey did say they weren't working on it much, favoring the defensive end instead. And LEAVE THE SUMMER 3 OUT OF THIS!!!

Batum isn't coming here. Barnes maybe but like carp has said - the pick or JV for him. Let's be realistic here gents.

we should package ross + gay + lowry for an elite point guard and get a new coach while we are at it.

you guys will see derozan is a keeper and will look for an extra pass at times when gay is a iso all day black hole, jv needs to be utilized more better, daye looks decent(hes better than ross to me, ross lacks killer instinct and will go 30min and score 4 points)

the team looked flat in second half. More energy in second group. I get the sense that Casey cant control them. They seem to regress to watching DD and RUDEE trying their Carmelo Anthony routines and losing feel for game.

They clawed back a little with DD performance but always with clock ticking away. Like last two years you have sense they would not dig themselves out of the hole. They look lost trying to find an offensive set unless Lowry or DD or RUDEE drive the lane. There is a reason they got to lane only 14 times and had a poor shooting night. No one works to get open and the ball swings at a snails pace. They took some really stupid shots instead of trying to get some better percentage chances. If you think Atlanta is a good team , hold on to your hats...
