Cavs are a good team despite the 5-20 record.

Loss?

I agree - I've seen a few Cavs games and they fight hard. The Raps need to pull this one out. This game enables them to have an easy 5 game win-streak. Need to pull it out.

Who is going to guard Irving?? It can't be Jose. But Jose can't guard Miles or Gee...

Irving has been lighting it up since his return....

I would challenge Demar personally - fuck your offense, you focus on shutting down Irving. Make Gee beat Jose in the post. Pietrus on Miles.

Either way - this is a tough win. The Cavs have the match-ups.

We could really use Kyle Lowry for this one.

I'm confused....whats the point of winning anymore? Really? We have already dug ourselves in a hole so deep that we can not get it out before the seasons done, I guess we should use the same old excuse "keep morale high, gotta get a few wins here and there".......I have never been a true supporter of tank nation, but when we are only guaranteed a top 3 pick, and lose everything else....for the life and future of this team, we have to stop winning and get one of those top three picks, or else we have more of this to look forward to next year:cookie:

We already got our top picks, Andrea Bargnani and Jonas Valanciunas. They need to start learning how to win. Eventually you need to stop losing - it's tiresome. If a number one pick = guarantee playoff team, let's tank; but it isn't. Just look at the Italian guy sitting on our bench in street clothes.

Raptors1995 12-17-2012 11:39 PM

Kyrie's going to go off. Going to be tough winning on the road.

Raptors1995 12-17-2012 11:50 PM

If we can win tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised to see us pick up the next 2 at home.

Raptors1995 12-17-2012 11:51 PM

are you guys ready?

pzabby 12-18-2012 03:36 AM

I think ross will get big minutes this game to guard kyrie. I think he's an even better defender than pietrus at this point. I'd say he's our best defender.

.

The Raps should do whatever they did last year.

For some reason, Irving always shits the bed against the Raps, despite playing well against other teams in games bookmarking the games agaisnt Toronto. That is, his poor play is not in the midst of a terrible streak; he just seems to be mediocre against Toronto.

We won all 3 games against the Cavs last year.

First game against Toronto last year:

Irving goes 2/12 for 6 points and 7 assists
Jose goes 5/9 for 15 points and 11 assists (double-double)

Second game:

Irving 3/13 for 12 points and 4 assists
Jose 6/8 for 13 points and 11 assists (double-double)

Third game:

Irving 5/17 for 14 points and 7 assists
Bayless 6/13 for 20 points and 7 assists

I hope I didn't reverse jinx Irving into playing well against us now.

I see it as the opposite. If the Raps are good enough to get out of the bottom 5, and I think the Raps can do that, then they should try and win and get that pick obligation to OKC out of the way as quickly as possible. It makes things easier for a new GM, assuming we are lucky enough to watch Colangelo expire. If the pick obligation is done, the new GM can do whatever it wants without that looming over his head. Also, with the Raptors luck, if we don't convey the pick this year, Lowry will probably get hurt next year, when Jose is not around to cover his back, and then we'll finish bottom 5 in a deeper draft and lose the pick.

Honestly, one of my biggest fears for 2013-14 is that Lowry plays fewer than 60 games, Jose is gone, and we lose a primo pick to OKC. NO WAY WE SHOULD EVEN RISK LETTING THAT HAPPEN.

Also, as a matter of pride, why help OKC? We should try to get as many wins this year and give them as crappy a pick as possible in a weak draft. The Thunder has been fortunate enough to have high picks in enough deep drafts. I like the team, but fuck 'em. We should have some fuckin' pride. If anything, I'd love this team to just show some pride. It's the one thing I like about not having an automatic pick to tank for.

Kuzzy 12-18-2012 04:18 AM

Best case scenario: we finish dead last and have a 65% chance of keeping the pick (1-3). However, with garbage like Charlotte and Washington in the league, this probably won't happen. SOOOOO, LETS WIN AND TURN THAT 3RD-5TH OVERALL INTO A 10TH... screw OKC
