Ross scoring on a nice play late was a great thing for him as well. I can see him being very driven now. All he really needs to do is work like crazy on fine tuning his body. The breakout year is sure to come.

I'd take this loss much easier if it wasn't to the Nets and especially the Nets with Pierce and Garnett on their roster.

Too many parallels with 2007 and too many bad memories of those two assholes punking the Raps. It would have been really sweet to vanquish them from the playoffs.

Now I can get back to killing Demar and Casey for them being awful at their jobs.

Demar should be ashamed at how bad Johnson owned him. His effort on D was awful all series, but really came to the forefront today. There were at least 3-5 loose balls, or passes in his vicinity that he could have corralled but instead he chose the easy route to just lay back and let the Nets player get the ball. And his defence on Johnson? Its the definition of the word soft in sports.

Casey? Didn't make an adjustment that worked all series on Johnson. Johnson isn't Lebron, he shouldn't be this hard to guard THE ENTIRE FUCKING GAME. He either gave him the exact same double team looks with our weak, unprepared rotations where it wasn't even a hard double team and gave Johnson an easy pass to the corner or under the rim to KG, or else he'd just let him go 1 on 1 and dribble his way into a 5 foot hook shot. His defensive schemes vs essentially their only offence was pathetic.

I can't stand the way Derozan gets his points, it's such an inefficient way to score, he kills the rhythm of the offence, and he never makes the easy, quick pass out of traps or hard hedges. He's the reason JV was taken out of this series offensively with his selfish play.

Get rid of them both.
Hopefully you've calmed down a bit now and realize that dealing a guy who's likely a top 5 SG in the league probably isn't the best idea.

We lost Game 7 because....

a) we were young, inexperienced team battling against a veteran-laden one

b) Demar was battling the flu and wasn't himself (BKN also paid him a lot more attention)

c) we relied on 2 very young players to come through for us.... and they didn't (although credit to Ross for a hell of a play at the end).

d) Vasquez got screwed over by the refs.

Jonas was outclassed in Gm. 7 plain & simple. You can gripe all you want about guys "stealing his shots" or not getting him involved but that shouldn't have stopped him from hitting the glass, playing D and putting up more of effort (which he did for most of the series) against KG.

As for Casey not being able to draw up something to stop JJ though... I was more than a little surprised that Fields didn't get more time since he seemed to be healthy and he seemed to have success against him.

Ah well.... regardless.... VERY proud of this team and for a first time in a LONG time I'm looking forward to next season and couldn't give 2 shits about the draft.

Agreed.... Although it WAS nice to hear both speak glowingly about the team and the city after the game.
