lack of ball movement, rebounding, and turnovers turned out to be the difference, not experience.

I wont be forgetting this one for a while. tough one to swallow after a remarkable season and a game 7 on our home court. raps honestly beat themselves in this series.. way too many turnovers and not enough rebounding, an area we were supposed to have a massive advantage in throughout. so many things we could look back on and point to as the reason why this happened.. I'm honestly surprised the series was even this close considering we never really played a complete game from the first to the seventh. our true identity never really showed, but I guess part of that is due to brooklyn's insane depth and ability to play great collective defense. it kind of gets to me when guys like pierce and joe go off like its noones business when they've more or less been irrelevant for years though.

lack of size is still a glaring issue that constantly gets exploited when we go up against other elite teams. that needs to change. we could really use a defensive specialist as well.. here's to hoping that gets addressed either in the upcoming draft or free agency. fully expect kyle to re-sign. he isn't at fault for today's game. dude's a top 10 point guard and the catalyst of the team, he'll have to be the first priority this summer.

bright side: core guys are young and only scratching the surface. it will be imperative that demar, val and ross fulfill their potential. how the team does in the near future lies there. thankfully, we have an extremely competent GM on our side that will provide us with a good chance to develop into a formidable contender long term.

On a bright note, everyone in the US, fuck even the entire world watched this game on abc and the fightback must have garnered some respect around the league. If there's anyway to lose its in this matter. This exciting basketball is how you attract free agents

How long have you been watching the Raptors? If its been forever you should have gotten used to this. But its your life lol I cant imagine myself feeding off the negative stuff.

Thats not to say I cant deal with moves that will be needed to be pull off this summer.

Now I can get back to killing Demar and Casey for them being awful at their jobs.

Demar should be ashamed at how bad Johnson owned him. His effort on D was awful all series, but really came to the forefront today. There were at least 3-5 loose balls, or passes in his vicinity that he could have corralled but instead he chose the easy route to just lay back and let the Nets player get the ball. And his defence on Johnson? Its the definition of the word soft in sports.

Casey? Didn't make an adjustment that worked all series on Johnson. Johnson isn't Lebron, he shouldn't be this hard to guard THE ENTIRE FUCKING GAME. He either gave him the exact same double team looks with our weak, unprepared rotations where it wasn't even a hard double team and gave Johnson an easy pass to the corner or under the rim to KG, or else he'd just let him go 1 on 1 and dribble his way into a 5 foot hook shot. His defensive schemes vs essentially their only offence was pathetic.

I can't stand the way Derozan gets his points, it's such an inefficient way to score, he kills the rhythm of the offence, and he never makes the easy, quick pass out of traps or hard hedges. He's the reason JV was taken out of this series offensively with his selfish play.

Get rid of them both.
I agree with you to a degree but who are you going to replace the production of demar? 20+ points a game isn't easy to replace. We all know his issues defensively but he still has the ability to penetrate when he wants to and has single handedly taken over games. IMO, it would be a huge step back trading demar.

I am not totally sold on Casey but again, who are you going to hire? Is Lionel Hollins going to come here? Is he really that good, because their team didnt seem to miss a beat(when healthy)?

I never, ever get used to losing, especially when we've just completed a winning season.

There will be a time and place for perspective, but IMO right after a tough loss to a lower seed, that is not the time.

We were a division champ going against a team led by a rookie coach. Yes, their experienced roster did and does somewhat negate that fact, but it still stings. Our lack of execution the last 2 games was frustrating.

Refs were bought. There is no question about it, not in my mind.

Raps still should've played much better.

KG will always give you effort, and today he was a huge difference maker for Nets winning. KG, Thornton, Blatche, Livingston. They did the little things today for the Nets. Joe Johnson was the MVP for them but he got helped from others.

To be honest, Raptors got the Nets best game today. Raptors struggle but fought hard to have a chance late. Toronto needed JV of early in this series but didn't get that today.

Those key words you said should make you feel less frustrated. I couldnt believe myself that we made this far including making the play offs alone.

Right now its about management in the summer and hopefully we dont pull a leafs.

True, this season KG has shown to be washed up, but hall of famers are going to have throwback performances, especially when they get healthy and lots of rest.

I'm more disappointed in the fact that we somehow let Marcus Thornton look like Ray Allen out there to complete the old "Big 3" along with KG and Pierce.

I am down to get rid of them both. Hopefully a good deal comes around on draft day and we can send DD packing. If not he has to work on passing a lot more and to stop jacking up shots. We can't let him think he is the franchise guy and that he is the one that needs to be scoring, I feel like that is why he takes a lot of his shots

Derozan was asked about Kyle Lowry and what he will say to convince him to stay.

His response "I'm not worried about that, and I can't see why he'd leave to be honest"

Garnett was the difference. Didn't see that coming at all. I really thought they were going to pull it out. Could have gotten a call. But the refs giving KG a foul when he was nowhere near the play, instead of giving it to Deron for his sixth, and hesitating to call the out of bounds play off Brooklyn the way it obviously happened, really showed that there was a big hurdle to overcome. And it almost was. The call could have been made on the last play. But ultimately it came down to lacking a go-to guy for those last plays. I think Ross will become that guy. I think there is plenty of room for improvement. And with all that in mind they went down by one point to a team that played very well, and Pierce himself admitted that they got playoff calls. It's a pretty good start with lots to grow off of. I can't be too disappointed, especially since i thought with how banged up they were, that they were going to go down 3-1 with near certainty. They fought. They came up just short. They have a lot of room to improve and surely will.

JV(especially) and Ross' rise will help replace Demars inefficient points, and I expect us to really improve our bench this off season. His points wont be as difficult to replace as you think, so long as we have the right coach in place to utilize Ross and JV's talent, and with them getting more usage in the right spots, I truly believe our offence will improve from this year where it stagnated far too often.

With the management we've brought in, why cant we get a big name coach? Isn't that the whole hype around Leiweke? That he's able to bring in the big fish? For a market like ours, we need and deserve a good proven coach for once.

Agreed the Refs spotted the Nets about 30-35 points spread through out the series. Especially in close game situations.

I am still proud of this team!

Sorry Gurk, but what the fuck? He had 12 shots and lead the team in assists with 6. Now i will say that he maybe should have had 8 or 9 assists, and that is probably where he needs to improve his game yet. But he was not trying to be the hero and jacking up a ton of shots. If anything, that was Lowry. Though i would not go that far. You want to send away a 20+ point guy that is showing a nice overall understanding of the game for draft picks? Are you talking top 3 in the draft, because anything less is just nutty. He's not a guy you send packing.
